How does this mesh with stasis? I'm assuming the counter doesn't increment?
Correct.

And yeah, sure, UP, get a free point of AP this turn.

Talvara - last turn was a drought, which meant your irrigated field only produced one food.

And you can only procreate with ONE other person for a given procreation action, so you'll have to work out who the initiator is and who they initiated with.

Also, I need to change something. The initiator will also lose some AP at the beginning of next turn. Correcting now...

aaaahh, I see I misunderstood 'which round' the drought was effecting, I though it was for the food which was grown at the start of the round.

sorry about the mistake. I'll go fix it and starve tonight T.T

one more question... should my mortality counter be 10/10 or 9/10?

if the mortality counter starts now it should be zero and then increase to 1 at the end of this round, i hope.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Also, Turuin, didn't you starve again last turn thanks to that wasted grow action?

Also, Talvara, how do you have one food leftover?
edit:
also... Tattle on Tiruin, You forgot to add the Mortal condition to your character sheet ;)
Also, yeah You're totaly welcome to join the party. I tend to put the conditions in my socialise action, so aslong as you're anyone and not diseased ;) feel free to boogie down with us. if someone pisses me off I'll start keeping a blacklist though.
(don't worry though I'm pretty hard to piss off)
Mortal whatnow? I was looking at "Rounded down" meaning to the lower increment...meaning that it made less sense because of how 1, divided in two = 0.5, rounded down...

Darnit English :X Give that AP anyway, because I fail english and mathematical semantics forever.

Also, wasted 7 time units. Woo! Good reason for depression :S

Talvara: What mortal? I don't see anything about Mortal in the OP...

Quickedit: Damnit didn't see that. Well, y'know, because of the editing time between the post, my post, and the final edit (« Last Edit: Today at 06:59:33 am by GlyphGryph »)

@GG: Fixed my aching stomach :/

EditII: Pretty Face is truly a life saving trait. Everyone can socialize with them, and they're like that shining star of hope - only that everyone likes looking good. Sorry, the imagery got to me since most of us are socializing that way. XP

Tiruin on account of you being new and me taking WAY too long to answer your question, I'm going to do you a favour.

Last turn, I'm going to assume you finished your prospect, and only put 6 points in the farming.

Which means you started this turn at 6/7 grow food.

Sorry again for taking so long to answer your question and screwing you over, hopefully this makes up for it!

This won't happen again. (Mostly because if there had been a bounty this turn, those grow food actions wouldn't have actually gone to waste!)

It's OK Glyph, that was fully due to my mistake. While I did re-read the lines of "rounded down" and computed the listing, I'd rather face the full consequences and try to at least bring up my possessions for my offspring to benefit from. No matter that I may die in the process :P

Buuuut if that's the case, then I guess I can live with a few more years in my pocket. Thanks though, I'm really humbled by that offer.

:(

Should I have just kept rerolling until I got something good? I would have felt like that would have been dishonest, but maybe it would have been the better choice.

We can take this kaian :D It's just a long stroke of bad luck. Surely our efforts as a community will shape up!

let me wrap my head around that. We got THREE ROUNDS of events SCREWING US OVER, then we got this... this... this badely timed, to say the least, new rule.

Calculate:
turn 16: starve, I get back to 11 happyness. 8/8 health
turn 17: grow food and start learning tech from GWG, assuming he can do that.
turn 18: grow food and finish learning tech
turn 19: grow food and procreate.
turn 20: teach children
turn 21: grow food, teach.
turn 22: teach children
turn 23: Grow food, teach.
turn 24: retire.

THAT'S EIGHT TURNS WHERE NOTHING CAN GO WRONG, BECAUSE EITHER DROUGHT, BAD OMENS OR RATS (between turns 19 and 24 for this last one) AND IT'S GAME OVER, BECAUSE STARVING. We have 1/4 chance of instant game over EVERY TURN (roughly). What's the probability of survival? My math say it's about 10%. 90% chance of EVERYONE DYING.
ALSO EIGHT TURNS OF NOTHING HAPPENING BUT RECOVERING. that's half the game's lenght so far. I can't really take 24 pages of "recover from the Apocalypse".

Sorry, but indefinite stasis for me. Tell your grandchildrens to wake me up.

Pests followed by drought really is a worst-case scenario, and stacking two (or was it three?) bad omens on top of it... yeouch.

So I'm going to offer this:
The new player limitation and mortality rule will come into effect at the end of this turn. Anyone who wants to start fresh can do so now. Sure, you will lose your knowledges and items, but as long as a couple people stick around to preserve it, you might have an easier time of coming back.

What do you say, kaian-a-coel? Would that be ok?

I'm prepared to hold onto items for people, in return for a possible incarnation as one of your children. (is that ok Glyph?)

I'm also prepared to change my turn to learn knowledge for redistribution, and starve instead, as long as the above is accepted.

This is acceptable, yes. Obviously I'm not going to enforce that guarantee, so it will involve a measure of trust, but it is acceptable.

So, officially:
If you want to restart with a clean slate, this turn is your last opportunity until the first progeny begin becoming available.

You might want to use this opportunity to grab some of the traits that haven't been selected yet or aren't widespread...
