Pocket one or two of the lighter tools and examine the crates, after getting them opened up.

((This may well become a defining point in my IC experience.  If they shoot at me, I'll begin taking my first steps towards RPing as a completely paranoid jerk whereas if things go down peacefully, I'll continue on with my current nice guy approach.))
Ha, you weren't kidding.
But they're CIVILIANS!! Shouldn't you be protecting them?! /feignedhorror

Where's batman when you need him? Hmmmmm..idea.

Listen. Listen hard. If it's quiet, open the door while standing outside of the frame and wait with knife ready. If nothing happens, peek in.

No rush.  Just please don't pull one of those things where get so distracted that you don't update this for several months only to tell us at some much later point, "Oh sorry guys, this is dead.  I forgot to tell you."

That's happened to literally every single forum game I've ever played and it makes me sad. :(

Now you look dumb. :D

Pufferfish
If anything is alive on the other side it must be pretty good at staying quiet. You open the door. The wall is entirely gone and half the room lies in the alley below. You're surprised that a building this new could possibly be falling apart, and thats when you notice the scorch marks on what is left of the tattered carpet atop the splintered boards overhanging the drop to the ground floor. The bathroom however looks intact, and the door hardly has a scratch on it.

gman8181
You head into the nearest building, a four story tenement. The voices in the street grow louder as you pound up the stairs to the second floor. You burst into the nearest apartment with a view of the street just as the sounds of running and shouting abruptly cease, and you creep over to the window to peer outside.

Several dozen civilians armed with clubs and rifles have gathered solemnly around the two corpses you left in the street when you made your escape. One of them, a woman, falls to her knees and hugs the body of the man you shot. Her howling sobs echo down the empty road and you can see several others of the group visibly crying over him. After a few minutes a man in a leather coat carrying a Thompson, clearly the leader, gathers the group together and starts ordering them into the nearby buildings. A group of men lift the dead and carry them back the way they came, with the grievers walking along behind them sombrely. You snap away from the window when you hear a crash from below and the sound of raised voices as the survivors move into the building.

SomeStupidGuy
You see a few more picks and shovels, lots of stuff you don't need. You grab one of the crates at the top of a stack and with some difficulty due to its weight and your injured leg push it over and onto the ground. It splinters and you pull the broken boards away. Its filled with TNT. You smash another box and find cartons of fuses. You pocket one of the cartons and grab yourself a few sticks of dynamite.

Pufferfish - Allora
Warm Rags + Leather Overcoat [pack of cigarettes, Terrence the Amorphous Blob, switchblade, revolver (empty)] + B-3 Gas Mask (doesn't need filters), Long Lead Pipe [last seen on ground behind reception desk], Briefcase [in hand; full bottle of whiskey, 4 tins of spam, 10 cans of fruit], Backpack [broken gas mask]

gman8181 - Jim (Green)
U.S. Army Winter Uniform [Sergeant rank; combat knife], Trench Gun [in hands; 5/6 shells], Ammo Pouch [9 shells, map of the city, compass]
Spoiler: Squad (click to show/hide)

SomeStupidGuy - Finn (Teal)
Loose Cotton Shirt and Trousers [matches, two cigarettes, wallet, 3 sticks of dynamite, carton of fuses], Pickaxe [right hand], Gas Lantern [left hand]

Ah, Cataclysm is a perfectly fine reason to post a turn late. Best of luck, may all your parking lots have trucks. :V

Continue on my way out of the mine.

Now you look dumb. :D
Haha, yeah.  You made me happy though :D.

Hey any of you guys have an extra grenade?

Take an extra grenade if someone has one.

Quickly survey the apartment for good hiding spots / cover.  Have Waters and Marburg on opposite sides of the door if possible so that when someone walks in, we can fire from multiple angles.

Quickly look to see if there are any fire escapes in the apartment at nearby windows.  Observe which windows are open if any.  Is there only one door to the apartment we're in?

If there is an already open window or one that could be opened quickly and quietly, have Schweitzer move to it and start shooting the people in the street.  Aim for the leader first, then the people with guns, then the people with melee weapons and then the unarmed.  If the people on the street see Schweitzer in the window or start firing back in his direction have him stop shooting and take cover behind something with me in the room.  Do the same thing if we hear the people inside the building get too close to the room.

If there is no good place for Schweitzer to snipe, just have him take cover with me in the room while we wait for the people to arrive at the apartment.  Prepare to shoot as soon as they open the door.

Shut the door behind me and walk in. If the door to the bathroom is closed, do the same - stay quiet, listen, open while away from the frame. If it's open, poke head in and peer around. See if the faucet still works. If it does, shut it off quickly - Who knows if the water pressure is any good. If not, whatever. Take a good look around to see what there is.

If you look at the squad tab under your inventory you'll see what all of your men are carrying. There is only one door to the apartment, and a single bed and a dresser which you could move for cover, though it would mostly only do for concealment. There are two windows side by side that can be opened. There are no other rooms in the 'apartment.'

In light of the new information,
Revised post:

Marburg, hand me a grenade.

Take an extra grenade from Marburg.

Have everyone except Schweitzer but including me, grab the dresser and move it quietly to block the door.  Position Waters and Marburg behind the bed and aiming at the door.  I'll hide behind the door on the other side with my trench gun ready to fire (I kind of picture the door center of the wall with me on the one side and the others opposite me but both of us sort of to the furthest corners away from the door).  Position myself so that I won't be shot if they just blindly shoot through the door and make sure that I'm not in the line of fire of my men and vice versa.

While we're doing the above, have Schweitzer open a window and start shooting the people in the street.  Aim for the leader first, then the people with guns, then the people with melee weapons and then the unarmed.  If the people on the street see Schweitzer in the window or start firing back in his direction have him stop shooting and run over next to me in the room.  Do the same thing if we hear the people inside the building get too close to the room.

Prepare to shoot as soon as they open the door or attempt to open the door.

Gman's gonna get karma'd.

*Shrugs*  It'll just be back to the wait list for reincarnation (assuming I'm still wanted).  Maybe I'll get nicer and maybe I'll get worse. ;)
Besides, I gave them a chance to be peaceful.
