How long does it stretch? Only ten feet?

Puuuleeease. If that's the case, I jump it.

Considering he said the entire hallway, it wouldn't surprise me if such an endeavour would result in you jumping into a wall. Unless by that he meant the width.

I was thinking the width, yeah.

I still have the mental image of a dwarf jumping over a pit trap, only to hit a wall and then ricocheting right into the trap.

*Ahem* Anyways, you need to get past the trapdoor to continue. So, I'm assuming you're jumping it?

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

No. I let the others jump first.

Then I try to fix the trap so they can't get out again.

"We can use this trap to our advantage, since we can cross it fairly easily. Who needs to be carried across?"

I'm not jumping.
Send the fliers to disable the trap? How else would evil cross if there wasn't a convenient switch?

Throw rock onto pit trap. See how much weight is needed to trigger it.

Well, what size rock? if it's weighted for a normal creature, I'd highly doubt it'd let go with just a fist-sized rock, not to mention the general smothness of the tunnels doesn't lend itself to very large rocks...

If the first doesn't, throw more rocks. I should be able to estimate the total weight, considering I'm a dwarf. We're good with rocks. I also want to figure out how deep it goes.

Find enough rocks to just plain fill out that pit.

Not enough rocks in the tunnels so far to do ThAT, darvi :P

Eventually, Renark finds enough big rocks to throw onto the trapdoor(creating about the total weight of your average gnome) that it finally gives way. Renark looks down.....

and down.....

and down......

until he finally makes out the bottom at the edge of his darkvision. It seems this is not only a deep pit, it is also lined with large spikes at the bottom. Best not fall in!

(OOC: Your darkvision extends 60 ft right? regardless, that's how deep it is)

90 feet. "Well, we certainly don't want to fall down that. I can clim across the wall or jump it, easy enough, but it'd be safer if on o' you ground-haters just flew over carryin' a rope and piton. Stretch it across, but loop it back a few times to make a couple o' them, we can balance on one nd hold the others to steady ourselves."
