You slither up to the clearly terrified goblin. The invisibility and some other factors make it a lot easier and you successfully sneak up to him.(roll= 9 +5 practically invisible +2 small form +1 terrified target=17)
You lunge at him and bite down in his ankle. He yanks up his leg,squeeling it pain, but you manage to detach before anything happens. He did get a look at you though.
Your attempt to go into smoke form fails. You need a few un-interruped seconds to cast it.
The smoke instantly disappears. His mind went from "where am I" to "oh no, something is attacking me". That removes the confusion(smoke, in this case).
The average goblin is about as smart as a bag of hammers, but they are savants when it comes to combat. They rival even dwarven martial trances when it comes to keeping a clear head during battle.
Their stupidity still keeps them low on the food-chain. They aren't good at battle-tactics and styles of combat.
He stomps his foot down and you attempt to dodge. His stomp, which would have missed had you not attempted to dodge, hits you on the head. You hear a crack, and are very happy mental pain is easy to block out.
His roll= 11 -2 poison debuff = 9
your roll= 2 -1 you're a snake. Not exactly capable of dodging all that fast.
The poison is started to affect the goblin already though, and he's clutching his head in pain. Still capable of putting the harm on you though.
The poison from a single bite won't be enough to kill him, what now?
