Alright alright I get the picture.

Interbutts is fragile, like leetle babby bottom
Well as a whole it's fairly stable, if the government still exists to the west they probably still have working internet just fine, with exception of access to those servers solely based on the east coast (though lag times to the EU have probably gone up greatly since they can't relay through the fiber optics in the Atlantic ocean). It's more the ability of any given place to access the rest of the internet that's fragile.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

where can I find a charging station thingy?

and do batteries charge while I am away from the solar panels?
(I am kind of sure that they don't charge when I am away but... there is always hope!!)

You build one, and place it on a vehicle with power.

Unfortunately no, due to reality bubble.

Still Internet is IN THE CLOUD MAN, ITS IN THE GODDAMN CLOUD!!!
The clowd just means its on any server that allows them in, anywhere on the planet. You still need hardware with POWER to get it, and if I remember correctly the lore includes people nuking things.

So, I ran into a weird slowdown issue where waiting/sleeping/reading/crafting in my safehouse would take a looooong time. Like 3-4 minutes to save or sleep. I hoped it was the stupid amounts of random trash loot, so I started a crafting binge to get rid of it.

I *think* the problem cleared up when I turned my pile of 400+ animal bones into a few suits of bone armor, but I'm not absolutely certain that was the issue. Has anyone else ran into this?

I've definitely seen performance issues when around stupid huge piles of stuff.
We slowly chip away at it by making item handling more efficient.

When we can take handcarts between levels, oh how much easier keeping item lag down would be...

Just have a living level and a level of nothing but lockers full of crap.

Unrelated; my character just used an aero-evaporator CBM to completely fill a 55-gallon drum with drinking water. At once. And then I did it again. The mental image of poking a finger into a barrel and having a firehose-stream of spring water erupting from my pinkie is awesome. I also probably flash-dessicated my entire mansion.

Worth it.

Uhhhh.... then z-levels are gonna come and pee in your cheerios....
But seriously, we should be able to keep it under control, probably.

That would only take about 10 *million* gallons of air. ::)

It's not completely livable, no, but I'm also in a dense forest and next to a river that I have fish traps in. Deer/bears/moose, foraged stuff, dehydrated fruit, fish, and I could make a daytrip in my storage-plated APC to a triffid grove if I get bored. And there's an ant hive to the south. I gave up trying to butcher everything efficiently. I'm also working on this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I punched out a window to build the frame indoors, then plugged the hole with heavy duty plating. There's a minifridge waiting to be attached by the recharge station. It currently has 6 storage batteries at 98%, so... 600,000 batteries. Not counting the stuff that's actually running my welder, forge, and kitchen combo station. Or the APC. I think I have a problem.

Darkmere, I love this vehicle.

EDIT: What's 'ate indigestible food' about? I have no intolerance traits or mutations...

So in my ever evolving efforts to STAHP HAVING 8 BILLION TORSO ENCUMBRANCE, SERIOUSLY WTF... I think I have come to a solution that lets me retain not-die-ability with storage space while fitting the parameters.

Incidentally, what all do you need to build a shopping cart from scratch? Tools/Skills/Materials wise? I know you need four casters and a wire basket, do you also need a frame? Is there some way to build a Bionic Prepper to construct one immediately, using the stuffs in the starting shelter?

...can we add that as a feature

areas which increase your default encumbrance due to "increased gravity" or whatever the hell you figure out as a decent name

thing is everything's encumbrance would need to be increased

One issue with that is simple... You should be encumbered by just the weight of your own body.
