insta-fires killing everything: exploit, I have a fix on the back-burner (pun intended) that adds an intermediate "kindling" stage to fires that make them less trivially usable in combat.  They'll still be usable, but you have to do some planning and/or expend some resources (light fire, coax it to a sufficient size, then lead zombies onto it, or use a Molotov or similar to get one going fast)

Oh wow, never knew you could just use a lighter. I've been running around lighting bushes on fire to stop bleeding and get rid of infections for ages now O_o

As far as I know, you can't do anything about it but wait some time until it goes away on its own. From experience, I've noticed some correlation between healing time and how quickly you clean the bite after getting it and what method you use, but I don't have any hard numbers about it.
