You'll have to grab the source code, and probably look under vehicle.cpp or vehicle_part.cpp or something to that extent, to see if it actually does anything.  The actual food decay effect might be in game.cpp during the tick maths, though you might have to dive through a few extra files of source if it just references other functions that are defined elsewhere.  Like, if you get in there, and it calls "food.food_rot()" then you'd have to find food.cpp to find the actual function described.

Or slightly more finicky, you can search through github pushes for the one that includes minifridges, and see what the pull request has described.

Minifridges were made to function in a PR a few weeks ago. They keep your perishable foods edible for five times longer, so long as they're powered and turned on.

So like... I took out two fungal spires recently. I thought I was okay. Didn't get any messages about an infection.

While sleeping, my arms exploded into fungus stalks.

I quickly drank some fungicide, but on trying to First Aid my arms, they won't heal up. They are completely dead. Is there any hope for me? There's a hospital nearby, but I've not cleared it out. Will I even be able to use any weapons anymore?

Oh my god. She's in 998 amount of Pain. Her stats are -66 each.

Ooh. That's a lot of pains.

I don't have any real advice, as I have only ever gotten an FI twice, besides that royal jelly might make it go away. I used it for a fungal infection once.

Well, she survived the night, somehow keeping her Katana weilded (I guess she used her teeth). Spent another full day chugging oxycodone and codeine, waiting for Pain to reach 0. The next day, I went to the hospital, found a stem cell machine and restored both arms. Fully healed up. I HAVE SURVIVED. :D

Ooh, can you post that bug here so I can abuse it while it's still a thing? :0

It's not abuseable. If you try to disassemble an item, it gives you a debug message about the item_groups.json file or somesuch. I tried messing with the json files, but couldn't fix it, but it makes my starting plan (Tailor, disassemble strings for thread and go into town heavily armored) nearly impossible, which is disappointing.

In that case you should grab a fresh copy of the latest experimental build and it will solve your problem. We squashed that bug shortly after it initially popped up.

I love some of the experiences you get in this game.

Like my current guy, who managed to find a fully functional Electric Car in a parking lot out in the middle of nowhere. So you have this amazing feeling of luck and hope. And then a sinking feeling when I came out of a store i was doing a smash-and-grab on to find a horde of zombies trying to go through my electric car. Bastards. I managed to lure most of them off and save the car, but not before they trashed half of it (including both solar panels). So now I'm trying to get my mechanics skill high enough to actually fix it.

Pretty much. I think my exact thought was "Damn it! That's my car! They're trashing my car!"

I love vehicles now.  I've rebuilt the WARBUS and am stocking the different machines (namely, I lack a FOODCO).  You can find any car and smash them by hand (or by Zweihander) to generate infinite amounts of scrap metal, which can be welded together and made into hard plating very easily.  So I've got some 95% of the entire thing covered in hard plating, and her weight is approaching 5 tons.  (This is a 5 ton truck: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M939_Truck)  When passing through cities or bridges, I can ram into other cars at a decent clip and simply smash them to scrap that litters the ground.  It's pretty glorious!  I usually lose one of my bumpers, as the front of the WARBUS is 5 wide and originally covered in Spiked Plating.  However, 900 dura doesn't compared to 2,300 dura, so I've been upgrading every time they broke.  The new hard plating decays much slower when used as a battering ram.

Anyone know how heavy a standard electric car can get before you start suffering problems due to weight? I'm thinking about expanding mine, but I don't want to make it unusable.

Played the most recent "stable" build and enjoyed a bunch of new things.

First thing that happened was
Spoiler: Potential spoiler (click to show/hide)

After that I went north to the closest visible town and found some scientists on the way who happily gave me their id cards and some water.  Woo #2!  I can set up my home base in the top floor of that lab near she shelter!

I go into town and leave in a hurry when I come across a brute in the first bloody house and decide to explore my new lab home a bit.  I mutate canine ears, scales and high night vision, but get a little stinky-er.  I'll call that a win.

I follow the road south and come across 2 more groups of scientists and some military guys, and a functional (but out of gas) car.  RNG must love me.

Then the game decides to get back at me by closing with no message or anything in the log randomly while exploring the town to the south of the lab.   The RNG giveth, then the RNG taketh away.

The RNG has been fairly kind to me of late. First house I ran into had a nice armory in the basement. Most of the guns didn't have matching ammo (of course, only a crazy person would buy ammo to match their guns), but I got an Uzi and some 9mm ammo, plenty of shotgun shells that matched the sawed off shotgun traps in the street, and a baseball bat. It's also teasing me with mostly, but not quite, working electric cars. I've found ones with motors, ones with wheels, ones with solar panels, but none with all of them.

Is there any advantage to the new gold watch over the cheap plastic one? I like the stylish aspect, but it doesn't have an alarm which kind of sucks.
