And why not? It's not like we'll actually do the deed, and if the kid ISN'T a mindless slave, we use suggestion and spin a story about trying to look out over the town/thinking we saw an island in the ocean etc. etc. and just trying to get a better vantage.

We know he's not a mindless slave.  That's why some words are bolded, we're using power to make him do those things.  Otherwise, he has free will.

Huh, I forgot about weaknesses.

When the kid's gone, strike a part of ourselves with anything heavy, like a chair. If possible, slash us with something. Check for anything silver in the room, apply in similar manner. Check for damage and pain. If either if present, try to eliminate it. When the kid returns or before he's gone, ask him whether there are holy words or something one can use against the demons in case one of them decides to drag us back into hell.

I feel that the last idea is kinda stupid, but we must know whether we can be hurt verbally. The only way (apart from sifting a library) would be asking someone, which would lead to... unintended side effects. In this case it's safer to ask the kid, since he's already kinda broken and, if everything goes haywire, we may be able to overpower him physically.

Before we commence with self-mutilation and probably suicide by way of holy word, let's try to remember, and/or read the book.

I still say we need to get out of the room. We need to start doing something. After we figure out our weaknesses or anything similar, we should make the kid follow us. Find out what the normal dress is. Blend in. Start breaking people to follow us silently. Gather an army.

Since we have the kid as our thrall, let us have him kill all others in the house as sneakily as possible.  Should he succeed, then we have him kill himself.  If he should fail, we then convince the others to kill each other.  Now is the time to claim our freedom.  Once the house is clear, we escape then exploit other indivuals ( slowly and in separate areas) to slowly gain our strength.

In other words, we have gotten everything we needed out of this one, so let us expand and escape to bigger and better things.
