All we have to do is find enough money to bribe our way to the top and then lobby against anything that would make things harder for us in the us. We could probably do that with gratuitous amounts of scaring people with lamias and then charging to get them off their properties or something. Or takeover a bank.

Rising to the top of the country will get us temporal power, but without corresponding amounts of worship, we will be weak on the supernatural stage, where it really matters. Subverting the government is a nice middle-range plan but that is still a long way away.

Simple plan. We work on our cult and research how to send some of us into different bodies. Once we do that, we'll take a few new people, given codenames as follows:
Alpha--Good old Terry, on this list for completeness.
Omega--Some adorable, charismatic person; young enough to be "cute" and to make it believable that s/he hasn't discovered supernatural powers yet, but old enough to be educatable. Maybe 10-12. This person will put on a show of being the Messiah, aided by our powers, growing repertoire of spells, and some allegedly sick people from our cult.
Lincoln, Jackson--The two big names in politics for us, one Republican and one Democrat. We should probably branch out into multiple big-time politicians under our control, but meh.
Pluto--A rich guy, to finance this stuff covertly.

That should be good. Any suggestions or volunteers for folks to possess those hypothetical people?

What should his/her codename be? I named the Republican and Democratic codenames after the first in each party to get elected president, but not counting archaic parties which were mainstream in their day no third party candidate has ever become president. And no, Roosevelt doesn't count, he lost when he ran Bull Moose.

Oh wow, It's been a while since I've been a politician! The both seeem simple enough. Patently ridiculous, of course, but easy to understand. Either.
