That is actually very feasible.

Well hang on, why do you assume you HAVE to breed generation by generation? DF can support a hive based system, where the starting 7 function as the brood overlords, spawning endless waves of children. Effectively you'd only need one generation, with the kids functioning much like drones in ant colonies.

Poppycock. I'm perfectly sane, I told myself so just the other day. It's everyone else in the world that's off their bloody rocker...

Can't argue with that logic!

I dunno everyone, after firing up DF yesterday morning, and playing it pretty straight through to right now, I gotta say that it certainly leaves some kinda patina over everything I'm thinking about. I mean, not to say that I'm crazy, or that it's due to the ASCII, but I don't think there's really any game I've happily played for a day straight before, especially as short on sleep as I am

I can think of several games that I've played essentially nonstop for that long.

Yeah... there was a period when I was younger that I somehow progressed through part of FF6 while unconcious. Not really sure how, but I fell asleep playing and woke back up notably later further into the game. Was a bit strange.

As for day long roguelike binges... yeah. Yeah, been there, done that. Incursion♥

I've spent days just playing Morrowind and only taking breaks to eat, drink, or use the bathroom. That, Princess Maker 2 and Fatal Labyrinth are the only games I can honestly say I've done this with - outside of visual novels. Almost every other game can only keep my attention for up to three hour sessions at most and even then usually average sessions shorter than that.

Fatal Labyrinth is the only roguelike I recall binging on. It's an old Sega Genesis game that I spent twelve hours playing and managed to beat the game after doing such. I haven't played it since because I felt satisfied with my conquest of said game.

-Theoretical FATAL roguelike-
Even in ASCII, that would probably be a sign of insanity.

Okay, sorry for the too rough example. I edited it out. It's not theoretical though. The described actions were actually performable in HATEMOO. It netted me progression points in necrophilia and homosexuality.

HATEMOO is actually bad enough to be compared to FATAL? I now have lost any desire I might have once had to play it.
