We don't like lichen, but it's the only thing around that seems 'plentiful' and 'easy to catch'.  As of yet nothing's happened that makes me think we'd better not eat to much of any one thing.  That thing in the water might just eat us.

We eats the lichen, whether we likes it or not.  We eat all the lichen we can reach as we keep moving the direction we have been.

We eats our veggies, so we can catch desserts later.

Edited to add - question about hunger.  We're currently at 5/5 hunger, which means really full, right?  So despite having just metamorphed, and getting hungry faster.... we have been snacking on lichen as we pass then?  And just not getting any evolution points from this?  If so, plan doesn't change, except, don't eat -all- the lichen we can.  We just might have to retreat back this way or something.

I concur. But it is wise to only show these parameters when they become relevant.

Also INCREASE THIS HUNGER CAP! 5 is not anywhere remotely close to being way too low. I dont wanna have to eat ALL THE TIME.

I likes the area and situation summary too.  But we need to not overwhelm our host - if it would be easier maybe one of us closely following the tale could handle this part of the updating, and our host can point out any needed corrections if a mistake is made?

Nooooo you don't, and besides, we like beating around bushes, we could eat part of them!  You've got a bunch of players enjoying your game, including those of us offering suggestions.  Keep up the good story!

While there is a great deal of choice here food-wise, you decide to play it safe and just go for some of the lichen. This time there is so much of the stuff that you can comfortable eat to your content. You still don't have a way of properly storing energy however, meaning that you can only eat enough to keep you going for a few hours. Besides, the nearby creatures seem to be getting annoyed at you eating their lichen. If you had a sense of hearing, you would have heard the screeches those mice were making, warning you to leave or get omomned.

We are probably in a sewer system. We are currently in a nexus of sewer canals that has become clogged with debris. A prospering ecosystem has been established in this area. Lichen, mice, other plants and something in the water inhabits it. Long vibrations can be felt from above now and then. The mice seem to be making aggressive gestures.

Right now all we can see is more lichen that we can comfortably devour and several other plants growing on the path. You cannot currently see the surrounding area; your eyes aren't facing that way.

Description: Centipede-like creature with an opening at the end.

Brain: Poor. Cannot conceptualize beyond sight and a few scant thoughts that occasionally come up in its head.
Senses: No sense of taste, smell or hearing. Vision is relatively excellent.
Movement: Slow but may make short leaps.
Metabolism: Somewhat inefficient metabolism. Less food is acquired from organisms.

Legs: Multiple thin legs capable of limited movement and small leaps. Cannot make continuous fast movement.
Eyes: Two advanced eyes that see in varying spectrum of black-to-white in a 180º radius.
Grinder: An orifice capable of cutting up tissue for digestion.
Omnivorous Digestive Tract (Sewer Mouse): Simple digestive system with an interestingly large-for-an-omnivore caecum and several organs for increased digestion of food matter.
Skin: Weak and defenseless. Covered in fur.Can digest organic matter that is in contact. Somewhat inefficient.

I don't see a good way to toughen our skin yet.  I don't think being lichenous or having a plant's epidermis is going to be significantly better than scant fur.

Our lack of senses, especially smell, is worrysome.  We are MISSING OUT ON FOOD.  However, we do need better food stores too.
