Everything. With long-term storage, we can relax a bit, and approach survival more carefully.

Except we're not going to relax, I hope.  But we do have that ecosystem nearby which we can immediately raid to replenish our food storage.

Guys, I suggest a modification to our general strategy - before we were 'find any food, immediately use it and immediately become hungry, and only then look for more food (which we might not always find in time).'

Lets make our default pattern, since our Evolution points have no obvious cap, be ' When hungry, find any food and use it.  If not hungry or not very hungry, locate our likely next meal - then evolve in some safe-seeming area near it.  Hopefully that next meal (or one similar to it) will still be quite close once we finish evolving - and if not, we're not actually worse off than our current strategy.'

I like the sound of it. Locate next meal (hopefully consistent), THEN evolve nearby (not too close! it might be dangerous. lichen attract mice, which may be quite dangerous at our level.) THEN eat, then repeat.

How about we evolve some form of camouflage? Since the mice eat lichen, if we look like the lichen, we could become an ambush predator Also, I read that the big-ish plant we ate before causes animals to be sick, if we look like that then when we are changing we would look less appetizing to a passing rat or other predator.

There really should be 2 types of hunting:
a) Sustinence. Pretty basic.
b) Evolutionary. Searching for new stuff.
also possibly
c) Self-defence. May become relavant if t he mice get angry.

We're only 30cm? Mice could hurt us. Get out of there.

How about defensive camouflage then? Maybe a different pattern to make us less visible?

and if we can eat plants then we wont go hungry waiting.

We can eat plants, and already have eaten one.  We can eat anything organic - and we already have a mouse-like digestive tract, in addition to our skin that can absorb organic material that touches us - we eat through our skin. (arguably we didn't need a mouse's digestive tract, but maybe we can get some extra good from having that too)

There are a few plants - most in the water.  Also in the water is something that seems much bigger than us and is moving.  We'd probably be VERY happy if it swallows us whole, but I bet we would die if we get chewed much.

We are underground and there are very few plants.

We will eat those plants if we can.  And the swimmer.  But there's safer food where there is no scary sewer monster.  We eat that first, yum.

We may even leave this area for a time and come back to it after we've grown enough to be able to handle the harder parts better.  All that's in the future though.

Fear not - we can already do what you are asking for.

Unless we are eaten by angry mice, my good man.

Nah, screw camouflaging ourselves as the sickening plant.  Adopt and secrete its sickening chemical, then eat anything that tries to eat us, while it's busy puking its guts out.

Maybe boost health first though.

I think I like chemical debuffs too much.
