You start walking up the stairs when suddenly you trip and fall face (or as close to a face as you have) down on them. Fortunately both your and your host seem to be ok and you climb the rest of the way. Once at the top you find yourself in a corrido, you can hear some loud "bang"-like noises coming from down the hall and there is a small tunnel on the wall to your left.

You walk down the hall moaning and waving your arms around until the corridor turns to the left. You make the bend and spot the source of the sounds: a very obese human in uniform that your host identifies as a "guard". This guard is holding a "pistol", according to your host, and is using it to shoot three attacking headcrabs. Or at least that is what he is trying to do, since none of them are injuried. Panicking and somewhat deafened by the gunshots, he doesn't hear you coming. You manage to approach him from the back, and, as you are about to hit him, your host moans ratherly loudly alerting him to your presence. He turns around and you can see how terrified he is. He tries to fire, but all that comes out of the gun is "click" noise.

How shall you deal with him?

Agreed.

You first try to lick him, but after an unsuccesful attemp in wich the guard almost got away you settle for knocking him into the ground and holding him there so one of the other headcrabs can paratize him. The biggest of the three headcrabs crawls on top of the guards head and assumes control. After you release him both of you stand up and the newly created zombie moans a bit. You've made a new friend.

Stumble off with your new ally, looking for more people to corrupt, and maybe a way out of this godforsaken facility.

If possible, avoid theoretical physicists in powered armor with crowbars.
