Hehehe, a dyson sphere (is that right?) is effectively on the sci-fi table of stupidly expensive and useful megaprojects. Dream brain just went with Hollywood pretty lightshow instead of building a globe of solar panels completely encircling the sun. And escape egg. Sun-chicken-coop 1 lays an egg, everyone flies home in a yolk. :P

Last night I had some rediculous dream about fucking up at work and all the panicking that involved, which is exactly what I did at work yesterday. I wish my nightmares would stay in my head...

Had a nightmare a day or two ago that I was being pursued by a terminator, and... well, post-mortem, I apparently didn't last long (had a scorecard and everything; like DoomRL style). Damn thing got me by cornering me into a dock, forcing me to make a dive for it into the water to escape, only for them to have the weight advantage, and jump on me (with their feet on my neck and lungs, while at it), drowing me in record time. Didn't help that I could feel the whole experience of drowning. I was more pissed off than scared by the time the inevitable death rolled along because it was such BS I was taken out like that. Fear was in the chase, anger was in the death. I swear, the computer cheats sometimes (then again, thinking it through a bit more, self-preservation wasn't in their programming, and self-termination is allowed if it involves completing the mission with 100% success. Like I said, BS. Jackass killed me on a technicality.).

Another recent dream, I had an everyday happen, except I was hit with tons of inconvenience, especially after doing enough household work, and after getting annoyed enough, and my peace rattled enough, I took a moment to chill out. As I was doing so, I noticed a dark entity notice me noticing it, and it started running away, until my lucid awareness kicked in, and I pulled a Scorpion on it, and fired a grapple out of my hand into it, and yanked it back next to me to have a word with it, and then toss it around the room like a ragdoll, and then violently threw it out into the ocean. I woke up more peacefully than I would have otherwise.

Lesson to any spirits: Don't piss me off when I'm at peace.

And general lesson: Terminators are cheating bastards.

It was NOT good.

I dreamed that a fledgeling publishing company was distributing phonebooks as they reimagined them; not traditional by any stretch.

Instead of being sorted by name or number, the entries were sorted by address. Under each address, they listed in order:
Resident, age, occupation, average monthly wage, home number, cell number

I live in a 70 address on my street with my parents; they had me listed under 71. My dad was in a 40 address, my Mom and brother were both in the correct address, but then there were 6 other residents listed in our house that didn't live there. Furthermore, while all of us had the correct home phone number and my parents had the right cell numbers, they mispelled my dad's name (used a shortened form, in fact), made up cell numbers for my brother and I (we don't have cells), listed both my parents as unemployed (not true), and listed me as a 71 year old stripper making $8000 a month; I work at a coffee shop and am 22 years of age, not to mention I'm the wrong gender to be a stripper (Could be a chip'ndale, though; wouldn't want to be, in any case).

Most of the dream was me on the phone trying to explain to them what they got wrong on our page of the phone book, and what corrections needed to be made, while they bandied about words like "final printing" and "corporate error".

If it's not weird to ask, how old are you? I'm a few days shy of 20 and I still haven't had one of those.

Isn't that more likely than not because nothing turns you on, though?

To be fair, Ive never had to deal with that either, as far as I recall.

Sometimes I think we just like to convince ourselves we're knowledgeable enough even when we aren't, and have no shame. Quoting from what we've read recently aside, of course.

So last night I had another dream about work and getting shamed. Damnit.

This is why I don't generally nap, something like this always ends up happening and it throws me off for the rest of the day. I had this earlier, but I didn't get a chance to post it until now.

I dreamed I was in the woods, standing on a relatively clear hill. I could see some mountains and a lake off in the distance, and very dense evergreen forests in all directions. I knew, somehow, that it was absolutely imperative that I reach the lake shore before nightfall, or Bad Things™ would happen. So I set off with a spring in my step to get there as soon as I could. I made damn sure I was going in the right direction, and started climbing down the hill. Down in the forest, it was like a whole different world. The trees only let sparse dappled sunlight down to the forest floor, and there brown were pine needles all over the ground. Some nice dirt paths with wooden edges had been cleared but, again, I had the inexplicable knowledge that if I followed them I would regret it, and made a conscious effort to avoid them.

After a few hours walking, I decided I needed to get my bearing. I climbed a pine that was taller than the rest, and looked around. I couldn't see the mountains. I couldn't see the lake. Just flat forest as far as the eye could see. I felt a weird dropping sensation, and felt a chill. I still didn't know what exactly would happen, but it would be bad. It was late afternoon by now, and I tried to avoid whatever it was by building a shelter up in the tree by laying branches across the highest ones in the pine I'd climbed that could support the weight. I used some cordage to hold the construction together better. I planned to sharpen branches and stick them in the ground, but I ran out of time.

Around sunset I clambered up to my shelter and hoped to wait out the night and find my bearings in the morning. As the night got darker, I started hearing sounds. Some were like bobcats, shrill and biting, with responses that sounded like a booming, distorted coughing. The coughing sounded at intervals, but the bobcat sound was random. They were far away, for the most part, but every so often one would sound relatively close by. Then a new sound appeared, a groan like creaking timbers that drowned out all the rest. The forest fell completely silent. The groan sounded again a minute later, closer this time. Then again a minute later, even closer. I could hear something moving through the woods now, tearing away the lower branches of trees and crunching needles, moving in my direction at an alarming pace. Then it stopped. Everything was silent for a moment, until an overwhelming force pulled me downward out of the tree, taking the branches above and below with it. Nothing physical had grabbed me, I was just pulled down by some disembodied force. I saw the moon above me as I fell, full and bright directly overhead. I just kept falling, far longer than it should have taken to reach the ground. The groan sounded again, deafening now, and I woke up just in time to go to my physics lecture.

I took a nap this afternoon too and dreamed I was now working to stock an enormous warehouse, with a few others, and if we didn't get it ready in an hour we'd all be fired. I wasted a bunch of time having no idea what to actually move where, as all the movements of goods everyone was making seemed entirely random. Just pick up a box from this nice shelf here and put it over there. Nothing seemed to be labelled, just color coded.

At the same time, I had been on a computer and found porn. I then for whatever reason couldn't figure out how to get the browser or computer to shut down and if anyone found it of course I'd be in deep shit, and this was out in public. I just buried it under a mountain of other tabs. So, yet another one of those stupid dreams.

A few nights ago I was actually dreaming I was in a public computer lab where all the cool kids play this flight simulator/dogfighting game. I wanted to check my emails/bay12 at first and again I couldn't close down the program when the woman before me left it running, so I gave up and figured I'd trash her score and fought with some ai drones. After chasing the retreating alien drone fleet to the edge of space I turned around and nosedived into a coastal island and suddenly I was in a huge building housing a mech or something. More ai drone fights via mechwarrior!
