Zealots and Demons, The Fall of a God, Turn 91: Mesmerized
Alert others to the find. Try to create a safeguard against wild energy around the self.
Go nearer to the doll, and consciously go against touching it. Examine what happens.
[4] You really don't need protection against most wild magic, but you create a barrier protecting yourself against it anyhow. (-3 mana) [5] You approach the doll, examining the strings of magical enchantment that bind it. After doing so you feel more skilled in your craft (+1 Enchanting) You now recognize the doll will possess anyone who is holding it. You quickly move away to protect yourself. [2] You aren't sure why, but you can feel the doll reaching towards other more susceptible targets.
Carefully check what is inside the bag and if it's of any use, take it after quietly asking the ghosts for permission to do so. Leave the kitchen and head deeper into the manor.
[5] You open the bag. It's... a sack full of coffee beans. You're not much of a coffee drinker but seeing as how it doesn't hurt and there are no ghosts around to stop you... you take the sack with you. [6] You kick the door down to the room. You see a pirate standing there holding a wooden doll. You both kind of stare at each other for a moment out of surprise until you prepare your broadsword and he grabs a carving knife off the table.
[Hidden Roll vs. Doll] An image of the doll from earlier forces itself into your mind. You shake the image from your mind, you have bigger problems right now.
Stash everything in my inventory and then go to the door and get ready to leave with everyone else.
[1] You would get ready to leave, but the doll forces itself into your mind again. You kind of sit there stunned by the power of the thing.
[Hidden Roll vs. Doll] You get into a squabble with Aegnor over whether or not to destroy the doll.
Get ready to leave the dungeon.
[6] You're so prepared to leave, you don't need to get ready. Of course you don't actually leave the dungeon, but you know you can do so any time you want.
[Hidden Roll vs. Doll] You get into a squabble with Tikan over whether or not to destroy the doll.
Move out of the dungeon, dragging Akari along if need be to prevent her from being mesmerized by the doll.
[3] You move back up into the kitchen, you see Fleur heading back down to the dungeon and Kael fighting a mindless pirate in the next room. The pirate appears to be holding another wooden doll. You look behind you, thinking you grabbed Akari by the tail before leaving, only to find [1(Mordekhai)vs.5(Akari)] she was apparently left behind. Curse her stubborn desire to investigate everything.
[Hidden Roll vs. Doll] You don't notice the doll whatsoever.
Follow the Troll, backstab the Mesmerized Pirate.
[5] Fleur silently follows Kael into the Dining Hall surprised as the mesmerized pirate rushes in, carving knife in hand. [6] She flips over his shoulders but lands too far back to stab him in the back, her back practically in the next room. She curses under her breath in her native Draconic.
[Hidden Roll vs. Doll] Fleur hesitates as she moves towards the opponent, falling back to the kitchen.
Enemies:
Mesmerized Pirate 1: [3] [4-2/2=1 damage] He mindlessly moves towards Kael slashing at him with the rather ineffective carving knife, but somehow managing to cut his face.
