I seized everthing from the goblins as I'll write in my next update. Still, I don't know if I should seize the elven ones. It's what they call "Diplomatic relations", I don't know that this means. But they've got a lot of wood and other goodies... I think that I'm going to take them. What do you think we should do?

Elves are scary. Mithril is like steel, but stronger. But if you steal their mithril stuff, you can refit their "small" armor as a makeshift breastplate, and have a force well armed enough to fight the horrifying monsters. Your call, but it could come back up to bite you. Only melt armour if you cannot refit it as "makeshift"

16th Felsite

Some goblins traders arrived today. They had interesting goods. We're orcs you know. We seized everything. 50000 “urists” of goods, including steel weaponry, food, leather, clothes and much more. At the same time, fanatic elves traders arrived. With the goblins departing, they'll be able to trade with us. I've also decided to take “some” of the elven goods.
The writing changes slightly: it's the scribe writing:
In fact, we took all of their goods. 50000 urists of goods, including mithril.

As this is the first time that we stole them, I don't think that they'll attack us. At least, I hope.
Mebuy was also talking with their diplomat. I told him to request dragons, food, mithril and as much wood as they can bring.
This done, I began the conversion of their small mithril armors into real mithril breastplates.
I ordered a second bridge to be built at the entrance. I also plan to smooth the walls of the corridor so we can carve fortifications.

Summer has arrived.
I rebuilt the depot because nobody wants to haul the food in it. Hopefully it will fix it.
Otherwise, it's pretty calm. No thieves, no snatchers. We got a cow and a wolf from the elves. I'll free the cow for now, do what you want with the wolf.

5th Hematite

We began the construction of the factory! Also, a random bowyer raised from the deads. He wasn't in the records of the previous overseer. We'll memorialize him, as our mason who took a swim in the well.
Destroying the depot fixed the problem. Oh, I also forgot to say that I've built a trash disposal facility near the MAGMA.

OH GOD. I KNOW WHY EVERTHING WAS HORRIBLE WITH THE FOOD.
Wrex, you turned off “Orcs collect food” order I think. Or it was me. But I don't remember touching this menu. ANYWAY. We're good now.
We have food.
Still, this kind of sucks because all the quarry bushes and a lot of plump helmets withered.
Oh, also, we no longer have iron-bearing stone.

Just keep digging, hematite is everywhere on the first few levels. Also, ddragons are expensive. They make good turrets, but expensive.

Poor Utes. He sacrificed himself to save the whole fort. I think he deserves a tomb, as he's one of our first heroes.
Otherwise, you are bringing us good news! Do we have a glassmaker or will we have to wait for one/train one?

Don't worry, he's fine. Didn't have any sudden FUN issues for now.

Edit: You're even throwing a party.

Chill. It just hangs out around the one tree on the map, in the southwest corner.

Indeed, it didn't do anything. There's another one coming from the north-east. I noticed that when you have a cloud like this and that it rains, it destroys the cloud but leaves deposits on the ground. That's what happened for the first one.
Also "Azstrog Nametoolong" is taken by a fey mood. He claimed a leather workshop and created Sungastun, a leather padded leggings.
Also, one of the migrants who now is a soldier decided to hunt one-humped camels. I'll send the real military so we get some meat.
They run too fast, too bad.

Give them some bows, and rusty iron arrows, it should help. Artifact leggings are good, but our dude already has iron quaility leather on. So, what's our military strength like?

We have four orcs good with a sword and four novice archers. I'm building the barracks right now so they'll be able to train. This also mean we'll have to get more armor.

We should have plenty of metal, and we can tan hides, then laminate them at the craftsman's shop. One lamellar leather, one ash, one bone, and you get ironbone fighting claws.  Dig for more metal if you need to, forge new trap componenets, so on and so forth.

Meh, I read that fighting claws were pretty bad. I never really tested them. We have enough iron for scimtars anyway, and we've got three steel picks.
