I wasn't planning on doing a multiplayer game anymore since I realized my posts were lengthy, but since I have a few people I may as well. As always the main will still be driven by suggestions from everyone as it was before.

Dwarmin, your character looks good. I also enjoyed the Gungrave reference.

Deny, I'm alright with you being disfigured, but the leather mask isn't fitting the setting well. I would settle for a metal mask if that's alright with you.

There is one more slot if someone wants it. I'll be writing an undate in the morning. If someone doesn't write an action within 24 hours of an update I'll be updating without them until they post again.

((Zecro PM'd me about a character idea last night. I think he has the final spot.

One another note, I'm going to cry about how long it takes to write this. Never knew how long it took to write multiplayer games. :P))

Dr. Garett Nipton (Bay 12 Forums)

You grab the crushed first aid kit and open it, looking for a vial to insert into your civilian RIG, and sure enough there is. You carefully insert the vial into an opening in the RIG at the base of your spine. The pain in your chest from when the door fell on you is starting to dissipate. It's a shame that there are so few of those vials in comparison to the number of people on the ship. They just seem to heal wounds much more quickly, or at least the symptoms of wounds.

You look around for a source of dirt before climbing into the elevator, but are unable to see anything that would make sense. Regardless you climb into the elevator, carefully moving your head down next to the pulleys to fit in the small space. You start to move the pulleys, fumbling with each grasp because of the ineffective arm light. If your arm wasn't constantly pointed up at the roof of the box you might be able to see clearly, but that simply isn't happening. You pass what would have been an opening, but a quick glance over with your light tells you that the room is filled with rubble and that parts of the room above it must have collapsed. You slow down, hearing the sounds of those things above you, most likely roaming the collapsed room from the sounds of it. You turn off your light and continue moving the pulley up. Thankfully the pulley is for the most part silent, because when you looked into the next room what you saw was horrifying. There was a strange flat creature that was apparently eating a dead body. You couldn't bear to watch to see who it was, so you kept moving.

You arrived at B12 and surprisingly the room is intact, it even has power! The elevator won't continue any farther, but this room seems inviting in comparison to the rooms underneath. The door to the stairs is directly in front of you, and a door labeled 'storage room' with a pinpad lays to your left. You carefully emerge from the tightly enclosed supply elevator and look around one last time. There is a hallway directly opposite to the door leading to the stairs. Blood spatters line the hallway, and you think that you hear breathing further down the hall.

Kathryn Winters (Dwarmin)

You're in a checkpoint of sorts set up between Engine Control and Medical. A train stopped when it lost power, and if not for Daniel Hopkins from medical you would have never known that something happened. The entire ship shook just a while ago, but it isn't clear what did it. The monitors around the ship have been acting up all day and now even short range communications died. You think it might be Magpies, but your boss says that it can't be and that there's no way they'd be stupid enough to assault a station. You'd like to agree, but it does seem suspicious that it happened within a week of catching that psychotic asshole. Guard duty with the guy is the worst thing to ever happen from what you've heard about him. He won't stop talking to himself, and he draws on the walls. Why the hell we're keeping security is still holding him you have no idea.

You're standing on the stopped train, looking for anyone suspicious moving through the tunnels. One of the other guards appears from towards security, lowering his faceguard and waving frantically. "Hey Frost!" He calls out to you, and you shoot him a cold stare. He stops waving immediately. "Frost, you've been recalled. We're dropping the investigation for now. The chief needs you back ASAP." It's annoying that the comms are down, you have to deal with people like this. You faintly hear gunshots coming from towards Engine Control. You know that there should be more guards posted around there and that you've been recalled to HQ, but you could always play it off later if you wanted to look into it.

Do you want to return now, or investigate what's happening with the other team?

After being evacuated from medical when the morgue's battery shut down you took a tram to get back to your ship in the docks. Unfortunately the tram was stopped, and a security team came an hour later to help escort you back to your ship. You decide to kill the silence and talk. It'll be a long way back on foot. Your breathing acts up as you try and talk, "Is it normal for you guy to escort people around tram tunnels?"

The two security guards walking with you shoot you a confused look. One of them pipes up, "Dude, nothing has been normal today. Our comms have been fried since last night, and we haven't had the tram die ever. All in all it's a pretty shitty day." You can tell that the one that's remaining silent is rather uncomfortable around you. You get that a lot though. The talkative one continues, "Now we're on the look out for some boogeyman mining crew that's out to get us." He nudges the guy next to him, "Has security ever been this busy?" The man stays silent and just shakes his head.

A vent falls down, and the two security guards stop for a moment, shining their lights around where the sound came from. You switch to night vision. There's a creature there, human-like with two unfamiliar limbs jutting out from it's shoulders. It's silently avoiding the lights. The guards don't see it, but you do. You aren't entirely sure what the hell it is though. You've never seen something like that before.

((deny, just a warning. The drill is not a recommended weapon against necromorphs. You could use it, but be prepared to get horribly hurt in the process. These things tend to stab and slash people, so melee in general is not recommended. There are ways around it, but you need to be creative if you run out of stasis power. I'll also point out that you have no suit right now, but your ID means it's available at most stores.))

((Poor Nipton... He's got it worst compared to everyone else. I don't think he'll survive for much longer if he can't get to safety soon.))

Sneak to the storage room and enter the pin for it and quietly enter, keeping an eye down that corridor. Search the room quietly for stuff we can use, namely cores, energy sources, tools, weapons, first aid supplies, ANYTHING of use basically. We'll need to be creative if we are going to get out of here.

Kathryn shifted left, distributing her weight to her right foot. She sighed.

This was going to be a long day. Ever since the sickness had struck, It seemed to her the situation was getting worse and worse-every time they put out a fire, another one popped up...and no one had any answers. Half of security was (or had been) on mandatory sick leave, then they pulled everyone out of their beds for an 'unexplained crisis level threat'. Kathryn herself hadn't gotten as sick as the others, though she still felt bad enough Security had adopted a grim air lately.

When you saw some of the older guys and gals, the ones who were supposed to hold everything together, jumping at shadows like a first year rookie...you felt the ghost of fear pass around the room. You took another drink. Kathryn didn't drink much, these days, but she had seen her friends dig deeper and deeper lately-like they were preparing for something bad, that no one would admit what it was.

Eh, probably just nerves, right?

At least she had Henry-even in mutual misery, he was still there for her, weathering the tempest of her emotions like a rock. She wondered where he was. Probably in Medbay, dealing with another hypochondriac patient in his own calm and stern demeanor...or eating lunch-she had made him a triple stacked synthetic turkey and cheese sandwich this morning with some hydroponic tomatoes (with extra love), his favorite dish-messing around in that notebook of his, writing down his thoughts and feeling...or just staring out into cold space as he sometimes did (or they did together, more often than not), marveling in it all.

While she wanted nothing more than to stagger home and crawl in bed with him, wake up by his side, and find out everything was normal and right again, they both had their jobs to do.

Miles to go before I sleep, Kathryn thought, and it brought a small smile to her face.

Hmm. She knew that was gunfire in the distance. Why was she being ordered to retreat? Bloody Magpies, right...certainly. A bunch of pissed off Magpies got drunk and were firing off their guns, sabotaging things...surely.

She recognized her fellow guard as Clemson. Nice guy, a bit of a womanizer-but good natured all the same-usually had a nice sense of humor. Right now he only seemed afraid, and that fear was a cold, empty thing.

Kathryn weighed her options. The Chief had ordered her back-and you didn't get orders like 'the Chief wants you back', unless he used those exact words, usually. More to the point, you generally didn't approach a firefight with comms down unless you wanted to get shot by mistake. While Kathryn wasn't averse to risk taking, she wasn't stupid, either.

She would follow her orders.

"...yeah, yeah...I'm outta here." She said, shaking off her own fear.

Miles to go before I sleep...

Action: Head back to HQ

I got the wording wrong. I meant when the morgue's battery started failing. The battery hasn't failed since you repaired it. Referring to the past is confusing. I'll try and be more obvious if I have to refer to the past again.

Dr. Garret Nipton (Bay 12 Forums)

You punch in the code that Will gave you down in B20, and the door slides open. You jump slightly at the low inhuman noises coming from around the bloody hallway, making you rush into the storeroom. The room is small, about 5' by 5' with metal shelves on the left and right that are lined with containers. You open each container in hopes of finding something useful only to have your hopes dashed each time. You finally reach two strangely shaped containers. You open one of them, it's an engineering tool with a battery! You hastily go back through the other containers again, because you're sure you saw some surgical tools in one of them. You decide to check the second oddly shaped container to be sure it isn't something else, but you find the box empty, with the exception of a base where an engineering tool was.

There is a workbench here, but it's already open. Apparently someone must have been trying to use it earlier, because a power core and a capacity core sits on the open bench. Someone must have not known that the capacity cores don't react to the workbench. Either way it's yours now.

Kathryn Winters (Dwarmin)

Clemens looked back while walking away, "Alright. I've got to find a few others muffin. I'll rendezvous back to HQ in thirty minutes." He started to jog towards the gunfire which was slowing down, only one person was firing now. Stupid rookie's mind must be racing or something. With the security team as sick as it is I suppose it's understandable that some people will get jobs outside their comfort zone. You start walking back using the maintenance corridors you took to get to the tram tracks.

The corridors seemed to be quieter than usual, unnervingly so. Comms went down at least 10 hours ago, and not one person sent there had come back. Usually she'd just get briefed on the go, but now the chief was handing out orders personally in an attempt to stay organized. The vents around you reverberated with noise headed towards HQ, disappearing quickly at an impossible rate. The only other time you'd seen something like that was when the fans output was glitched and the blades broke off and bounced around the vents. You hoped that it wasn't anything like that again. You start to jog, trying to keep your mind off the image of the person that caught the blade when it broke the vent.

You arrived at HQ where you were greeted at gunpoint at the maintenance hatch. The man pointing his rifle at you eased up, "Shit, you scared me. I thought you were one of those things for a second." He pointed with his rifle to a dead body of sorts that was only three feet away.

The smell hit you suddenly, and the massive cavity in the thing's chest was hard to bear. You were getting nauseous, and you cup your hand in front of your nose. "What the hell is that?!"

His voice went defensive. "I'll be damned if I know. Shit like this ain't normal and you know it. They eat fucking pulse rounds for breakfast though. It took a lot of rounds to ground this sucker." He shook his head, "Let's get to back to the chief. We ain't staying here." You follow him back to the chief who is smoking a cigarette in his office. Something must have happened, because the chief isn't usually a smoker, but you don't ask.

The chief presses the button on the intercom, "Everyone's here. Come to the office." A few others pile in, five in total, and you recognize all of them. They're all high ranking officers from the riot squad. "Right now the ship's hurting. The comms are down, monsters are knocking at our door..." He starts hacking, holding up a tissue to his mouth. As he quickly pulls it away you think you see blood. "... and the Magpies are jamming non-RIG radios. We need to communicate if we're going to make it out of here. I need someone to go with Ferris to check the damage to the comm relay, someone to operate the cannon systems to destroy any ships that are around us but not docked, and someone to track down the Magpie with the jammer. Someone spotted 'em once, so we know he's here somewhere. Last one to volunteer gets to stay here and fight monsters until Clemens gets back."

A silence falls and it seems like they're debating with themselves on what to do.

Spoiler: Status (click to show/hide)

Dalia Cytheria (Zero_The_Scourge)

You're in Engine Control, on the outer edge of the engines around the middle of the ship, sitting with your back to the monitors waiting for a customer. A small bag with a stolen synthetic lung sits under your chair, just waiting to be sold alongside your favorite book, 'Mechanicus and You: A Guide to Self-Improvement Through Machines' by Archmagos Hular. Your customer seems to be late, and you find yourself getting bored of waiting. You start bouncing your crowbar into your palm, and spinning around in your office chair.

While spinning you see a glint of red on an otherwise pale blue screen. You stop spinning and take a look. Both of the main engines are hurting, the temperature ratings on them are rather high, almost as if they either are starting on fire or not venting. If this keeps up you'll need to do an emergency shutdown. This is horrible, and with the comms down you can't tell anybody about this.

Whatever is happening the vents are your best bet. If it's on fire you can vacuum the air out and stop the fire, and if it's the vents you can open them. The major question is which engine should you save first. The first controls power in Security, Medical, Hydroponics, Residential, and the Bridge. The second controls the Unitologist Church, Mineral Storage, the Government Sector, the downed Comm Array, and the Shopping District. Both of them control life support, and lighting in Engine Control.

Right, we need Garret to upgrade his firepower if he's gonna survive. Upgrade the Plasma Cutter's impact and the Handcannon's rate of fire, which should reduce the wait time between shots to 2 seconds from 4, so it's a massive upgrade. Put in our new capacity core too and then switch weapons to the plasma cutter and get ready to rock. Grab something to throw to get attention from a distance then listen at the door quietly for noise, then open it carefully and head to the end of the corridor. Throw the disposable item down it and when the creature comes around the corner, BLAST THAT SUCKER! Try aiming for it's legs to slow it down, then go for the head and arms.

Kathryn's own gun came up to meet the man-less than a half second's hesitation and they might have blown each other way. For a few moments, she could have sworn...

No, that was  Ferris. He was a rookie like her, but he was a good guy to have by your side at least.

"Cool it, Ferris...and what the Hell is that?" She said, looking at his 'handiwork'. She noticed a few things-the thing was dead, certainly, for one...and it had been damn near shot to pieces, it's arms and legs and head torn off by plasma rounds. There was a large neatly burned hole in the creatures center mass-Ferris was a crackshot with the plasma rifle-but apparently they hadn't been enough...even worse, there was a nasty something growing from where the corpse thing had fallen, like moss almost but flesh colored.

She forced her gaze away....

And yet, Kathryn looked back at the corpse (against her better judgement) one last time as she went into the chiefs office...and she froze up, noticing something odd on the things 'face'.

I'd know that nose ring anywhere.

That thing...was Oswald Phillips.

Oswald the bartender. Ossie. He gave last rounds not a few days ago, didn't he? One for the road...

What the Hell is going on?

Kathryn didn't seem to be able to move her limbs, and she felt Ferris pulled her along with an oddly gentle motion, like one would leading a Widow away from a coffin (Her thoughts were becoming increasingly strange at this point...)-but, she had an idea he knew as well.

...

She took stock of the situation. There was no right choice, was there? No...

"I'll go with Ferris. We could use that Comm, yeah...call in some help." She said, not sounding convinced at all.

Kathryn took a moment, voicing the concern most of the men in the room had. At least half of them were married and had children on the ship.

"And, sir, have we started emergency containment procedures yet? There's alot of...non-combatants on board. I'd think most of them are holed up in the Medbay, or some of the emergency shelters in the commercial districts."

Action: Volunteer to check the Comm Array with Ferris.
