((@PW: Thanks for the info.))
((You know what this means right? Dual wielding heavy lasers! Or whatever that thing is. Hopefully, it won't self destruct. Hmmm.... colours.... portal gun? Maybe it has a shield function? Maybe it's something like an oversized Lawgiver! Hope one of the settings is non-lethal.))
I can handle this with the battlesuit, right?
First things first. Equip the thing. Empty my head and focus on it. Does it talk to me or do anything to my mind? You can never be too careful with that alien (or sufficiently advanced human) stuff.
Look inside the barrel of the gun. Can I see anything inside?
In what position is the dial right now? If it's nothing or in some quantum state of not-chosen/null then choose Green.((May the green of Steve aid me.))
See whether or not you can choose mixtures of adjacent colors or if it can only be one color at a time.
((EDIT: Oh, wait a minute. It goes with the RYB model, right? That's nice. That means the "combinations" are already there, in a way. Wonder why it has two combinations of blue and red...))
EDIT:Does that mean that the color change is gradient or are they distinct colors?
Find an unimportant far away rock (or better yet, rock formation) to shoot at, ask Steve if it's ok to shoot it and if yes, shoot it. Make sure to get into cover and steady myself before firing. Also ask Steve to be on standby with competent medical professionals (or HMRC medics if others can't be spared) in case this thing backfires.
After firing (assuming I'm still alive), check if the state of the dial has changed in any way. Is any color glowing less?
EDIT2: Do NOT use NAV's character as a firing range or for target practice.
((I love experimenting with new stuff!))
Yep
When you pick it up in the battle suit the thing immediately opens up, splitting down the center and expanding; revealing the silvery innards under the black carapace. Cables and wires extend from the weapon and wrap themselves around your battlesuit's arm, digging into the plates and merging themselves with the inner electronics. It doesn't talk to you, but it does seem to be subtly effecting the HUD in the suit.
It's a bit too long for you to really angle it so you can look into the barrel with it attached to your arm and all.
The selector is on a space between the colors. You flip it to green. The weapon itself starts to glow with an inner green light and reconfigures itself into a shorter, fatter, configuration.
No. Distinct colors.
Gonna let you see this before you decide to fire, since things are slightly different.
Exit VR. The Internet has failed me for the last time... well, today, anyway. Dance on out of the ship. It's time to go on real adventures! Until Steve/Mom/Sandy calls me back, if such a thing is likely to happen.
Look around for interesting fauna on the surface.
Well, there's the strange ants. They're nearby. Wanna stick one of those up your nose?
ok, before we get into any of that, you realize you're gonna have to murder someone to get that stuff right? Probably Lukas. God help you if you have to fight his other friend.
Yeah, I figured that might be the case, but Erin doesn't actually know that (or The Doctor), and she's not
technically asking for the Doc to work on her- just look over the designs.
If she knew/someone told her this would incite a gladiatorial deathmatch, she'd definitely back down, since she's not terribly good at fighting.
ED: If anyone else is in the infirmary, now might be a good time to intervene.
Well, if I remember right, I don't think there was anything in that list that looked impossible or immensely stupid, so they're probably fine. Doc would most likely say about the same thing as well. He's pretty chill.
((I'm only up to mission 9, so an update would be surely appreciated. Something about planetary defense?))
Crawl out of stasis. Try not to throw up.
I dunno. Something about a rebellion. I don't really pay much attention.
You flop onto the cold metal floor. You try not to throw up. You throw up a lot.
Dominika's vision is merely a haze when she wakes up. She has time to groan very slightly, before she flops face-forward onto the ground with a splat sound. "Unfh..." After the fall from the stasis pod, she has time to start thinking. The first thing she registers is that she's covered in goo. Just as she's about to express disgust, she manages to notice a second thing: she is completely naked.
Ugh. Well, before she concerned herself with where she was, she'd deal with the excess of goo and the shortage of clothing.
Dominika cleans herself and looks for something to wear.
You find some clothing in a box near the stasis pods. Man, there's two other people here.
Yep. Dynamic bonus time.
I think he told you how to pilot it.
Exit the vr. Join Flint as the makeshift shooting range. Type in 1337 then pull he trigger of my number gun.
You type 1337 into the gun.
[con:2]
Ha.
Well you just sort of aim into the distance, more toward the sky then the ground, and shoot. The gun buzzes loudly and then clicks. Well, nothing shoots out that you can see, but then again you fired straight into the freaking air.
"Thank the AM that we don't have lungs any more."
"It's counting down"
"to what?"
"I don't know!"
Prepare to defend myself. Make a sphere of force to negate the force of explosions around me. In the case of shrapnel flying towards me, pulse/throw the 'shield' outward like I did on the bridge.
[exo4+2 DECOMP 5]
The walls deform and fire basketball sized metal orbs at you. You manage to deflect them with a pulse, but their great weight and force leave you rather tired afterwards.
Continue perusing wares, affix manipulator to my left forearm behind my shield.
((By kinetic dampener i mean stuff like impact gel inserts and anything that runs off of electricity that can lessen impact damage but isnt an automanipulator.))
Padding and gel is all well and good and not even that expensive. But I can honestly not think of something like the other thing you're describing that doesn't end up being massively complex and kinda silly. Then again, thats just me. You have ideas?
Well, fair bit of stasis dementia there but it's not really a problem! The present is the thing that matters, after all!
You flop, naked and goo covered, out of a stasis pod in the barracks.
Heh, thought i might be overdoing it a bit on that background when I came back to read it, ah well... sanity is for people who don't spend their lives poking alien artifacts for a living I guess...
Thanks for letting me on board Piecewise, wish I knew how you manage to cope with this many players... I mean I'm not the worst GM in the world but six players in person is my limit... so serious kudos is due I think for dealing with this many people in addition to the awkwardness text-only communication brings
MGAXT-85674/FR collapsed on the floor as the stasis pod doors gave way and dumped him unceremoniously onto the ground, a faint part of the old Stratten surfaced for a few seconds in the confusion and haze of the Stasis Pod's rapidly receding gripNo matter how many times I do it... it never gets any more pleasant... before years of neuro-reconditioning reasserted itself and Stratten was forced back to oblivion. MGAXT-85674/FR snapped to attention, eyes front and ignoring the lack of clothing but carefully monitoring the woman out of the corner of his eye.
He then bbegan snapping out the following

>The name is steve. Not cortana. Just for reference. "Well, that was an epic fail... okay, so questions about amps... firstly, during the battle, there was this amp specialist. I wasn't involved with hunting him, so I only heard that he was some wheelchair amp user who could use amps to sense. Previously I was told that you can't really use amps to sense. Is that a long, impractical process of some sort? Is there some... safer procedure that could work?"

"Not really. Sensing with them basically requires a combination of augmentations plus being kept comatose. Even then it's still not always successful. Specialists are basically the same idea as a ghost ship but limited to a single person. It's not the sort of thing that most people would chose, since it basically means you're going to spend the rest of your life doing that and basically only that."
Get out of VR and proceed to explore the area around the ship.
As in the cage structure or the land beneath it? I think both you and harry are doing this, so you could link up and go play with the hairy whatsits together.
