((Hey, Green hex with no lines, that's what I got. Although mine was a large. And the armorsuit within seems to take a Will roll and, if successful, allow me to phase through stuff.

Anyways, Nick (Nekarios) got the spider legs, then had them taken off and replaced with digitigrade legs that retained the grip-pads of the spider legs. And it was the manipulator that allowed him to kill himself and two others (out in a blaze of !!SCIENCE!!), not the legs, but then again, he might not have tried the manipulator thing if the legs hadn't allowed him onto the side of the dam, allowing him to see the targets and attempt a way, way overblown stunt with the manipulator. At least it sped up the mission, I think that one is the shortest one on record.

Also, hooray for a tenuous wifi field stopping me from even checking the mission thread, it'll still be a bit before I can post another action because I have a few pages to catch up. Also, sterilization is flooded with radiation that will give you severe radiation poisoning in 4 minutes, through a suit? Damn. 0.5 Sv/m is nothing to toy with.))

On the subject of launching, you want to use that massive rocket pack from the game to get out to the beta or just kinda launch off the motherwell. Because I can tell you, xcom is gonna open up on you with rocket launchers immediately.

As per amount of forces left, do the beta count for the xcomers? Or are they murderous neutral?

You open the package. Inside is a very strange looking pair of goggles. They're covered in raw electronics and have an exposed power supply on the side. The goggles themselves don't look to be glass but small view screens with a bevy miniature cameras and lenses on the front of the goggles.
