Chapter 7: Christians and Decapitation
Io raises his hands in relief and climbs down the tree. He makes his way over to the body. The farmer's eyes are still open. He kicks him in the face and they close. Io manages to collect his arrows, all embedded in the ground. Io takes the farmer's knife, which happens to be a Butcher Knife used to cut meats. He also loots the gold he was carrying, a nice profit of 6400 Yen. He allows takes the farmer's clothes and manages to stuff them in his Kimono. After this he shames the body, and then looks toward the sun. Based on the direction it is moving, he is heading west towards Kyoto.

Health: A minor bruise on his lower torso.
Appearance: A man at 6'0", he is not physically muscled but lean. He is built for speed and dodging.
Biography: Io was born to the family of Sarawa. The Sarawa family never really served Ruita, but in the woods they thrived. Modern day ninjas they always fought for their own needs which could mean taking jobs for any clan, or being bandits. They did whatever was necessary to better themselves. Io grew into this family and accepted the traditions. Io knows no master now and has trained for what he needs.. Io intends to write his own destiny wherever it takes him. He simply wants a purpose.

"Well, seems like you've come at a great time: A big civil war." The oxen continue to plod down the path. Nikolae does not stop scanning the roads. Time wears on, and afternoon descends into twilight.

"Looks like we're making record time, I did not expect to be here until the midnight." Nikolae sees they are entering a town.
"Welcome to Mayfield." As they ride on, Nikolae sees the peasants wearing European-styled clothing, and there are crosses in the field. Sito mutters,
"Familiar? A group of English missionaries came down her a generation ago. So this is a Christian village. Nothing wrong with Christians, we just can't look overly Buddhist or they'll call us heretics." They come to an inn. Sito hitches the oxen to a post on the side.
"I will book us a room. In the meantime, you can explore the town. There's no taverns or prostitutes, obviously."Name: Nikolae Kriegsmacher

Appearance: 5'9", long blonde hair tied in a ponytail and clear blue eyes. His body is muscled and built for agility without forsaking strength. The young man usually wears leather pants, a loose white long-sleeved shirt topped by a black vest with a silver pocket watch attached to it and resilient brown leather boots. Due to his fencing classes, he took the habit of donning a chail mail under his clothing.
Biography: Inheritance? Nikolae had no need for such things, especially because his older brother would receive all of it... Anyway, hailing from the Kriegsmacher family from the Prussian area of Germany, Nikolae was given a large sum of gold and convinced to leave the country or face the consequences of a struggle for the ownership of all the family's possessions. The youngster always wanted some adventure, and the prospect of not having to worry about poison in his food and assassins hiding in his bedroom seduced him, and to Japan he went. He is almost always smiling and his intelligence shifts along different areas, causing him to appear to be rather stupid sometimes.
He had fencing classes and carries a longsword along his rifle, which always has an attached bayonet.

Shimizu barks out,
"Do not kill them, incapacitate!" The Sharpshooters lower their rifles to aim at the Line Infantry's legs.
(4 vs. 4)
A few of the Imperialists are shot in the foot or ankle, but no deaths and they all continue their charge. During this time, Shimizu aimed his rifle for the enemy officer. Finding the decorated man in his sights, he fire his rifle at his head.
(6 vs. 5)
The bullet flies through the air and into the captain's jaw. He flies backwards and sprawls out unconscious. The men around him stop and begin carrying him away. The Line Infantry continue their charge, but Shimizu can tell they are shaken as they meet his unit.
(4 vs. 6)
The swords swing through the air, but Shimizu's troops quickly stab at them with bayonets and knives, causing quick starting casualties.
Shimizu's Sharpshooters: 64 remaining, boosted moral due to incapacitating enemy officer.
Enemy Line Infantry: 42 Remaining, Shaken due to either the wounding or death of their officer, and a failed charge.
Name: Shimizu Katsuo (Last name, first name).
Gender: Male.
Age: 23.
Clan: Shutomo (Shogunate).
Appearance: A short, agile man, Katsuo has short dark hair and blue eyes. He stands at 5' 5'', and isn't too muscular.
Biography: Katsuo was born into the Shimizu family as their second-eldest son. He enlisted into the army as soon as he could, and trained as a sharpshooter in his natal Shutomo. He's traveled far and wide, and as a result knows some foreign languages, like Chinese and English. Now that the war between the Shogunate and the Imperialists started, he sided with the progressists, and will do nearly anything to further their goals.

The eyes of the people turn on Losuka. He stammers,
"O-of course! It's just that you're help these English pigs! Just remember, if Britain had won against America, the United States wouldn't be able to support the Shogunate...and what would have happened without America?" He huffs and storms away.
After this, the people resume their everyday business in the market.
"I can't wait until the Mutoshomi leave this city." Horokomoi turns around to see his cousin Oushi-Tadai Orogami. He is a big, heavy bearded man, but there is a jolliness in his booming voice.
"Good to see you cousin. So, what is this about your dealings with the English? What have you gotten?Name: Horokomoi Orogami

Appearance: A man average in stature, Orogami has brown eyes and his hair twisted back in a bun.
Biography: Orogami was born into a long line of Imperialists, but he decided that Japan needed a change. Since then he has lived in the capital as a noble, but he still has some imperial traditions.

Matsuo charges the bandit leader and slashes at his head.
(2 vs. 5)
The bandit leader rolls away from this, and aims his Pistol at Matsuo. He fires.
(3 vs. 6)
Matsuo deflects the bullet with his sword! The bandit leader is shocked by this, giving the farmers a chance to sneak up on him.
(3 vs. 1)
The Kama farmer slices him across the right arm. The bandit stumbles forward, grunting in pain as a deep gash covers his arm. He turns to face the farmers.
"Get out of here!" He charges them.
(4 vs. 1)
He grabs the Kama farmer by the shoulder's and deeply knees him in the chest. The farmer gasps as the air is knocked out of him, and then the bandit leader smashes his face with a headbutt. There is the sound of breaking bone and some blood as the farmer is knocked out. The Bo farmer is still circling, his weapon at the ready.
Name: Matsuo Satoshi
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Clan: Banke
Appearance: A Giant of a man with a muscular body honed through years of training and small conflicts. Despite taking part in a number of duels and minor battles Satoshi remains unscarred. He wears his hair extremely long giving rise to a local myth that he will only shave it when he is defeated in battle
Biography: A legend among his people Satoshi's boisterous and warrior like nature have seen him become a popular figure among the Imperialist small-folk and samurai alike. He has a great love of battle and prefers to fight with traditional methods, though he does not look down on the men who have adapted to more modern ways. Satoshi is not well liked by a number of the higher ranked imperial officals due to his brashness but his fighting ability is well respected, meaning that while he may never have a command of his own he is still a potent weapon when simply pointed towards the enemy.
While Satoshi would prefer Japan to remain true to its traditional ways he does not disrespect the Shogunate and sees them as a worthy opponent who have presented him with the opportunity of a life-time to prove himself.

The thug nods and charges up the hill at Boto. Boto is ready with his sword, and the engagement begins. The Axe and Sword slash at each other, steel-made sparks flare up the sky. Akira stays hidden, and silently aims the sword for the thief's back. Aiming at the spine, he lets the arrow fly.

The arrow strikes the bandit behind his left knee. He howls in pain as he is shot. Akira's partner sees that this is an opportune time to attack.
(6 vs. 1)
The thug swings his Axe dire at Boto's neck. He is decapitated, his head flying in a wide arc until it lands with a thud. His body slumps down. Akira's partner yells,
"I got him!"Name: Akira Hiroto
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Clan: Shutomo (Neutral)
Appearance: He appears well educated, with a runners body and short hair.
Biography: Hiroto was the son of a minor lord, he looked the part but certainly didn't feel that way. His lessons bored him and people held no more interest than animals to him. However, like animals he enjoyed torturing them as well. Eventually, his dark experiments were discovered and he was locked up. Being the son of a lord however, he got a light sentence. However, while imprisoned he killed his cellmate and was going to be executed when a shogunate raid showed up, and Hiroto offered his services to the leader of the raid. He was taken to the Shutomo, and a new chapter in his saga begun.
