((No. At least, not one that transforms, and that's the only point of it, innit? They're not terribly good as tanks, and as far as artillery goes, we can do much better.

As for our infantry, go here and open the 'Enemy Intel' section, you're looking for the entry labeled 'Sods'. We're going to be using variants of those. I prefer cybernetic, others prefer to see what The Doctor genehacks them into. We agree that we need an enhanced version, a 'Commander', to control each squad. As to why they're 'stupid', they're bred that way. That was an intentional design feature of the UWM.))

((For one, we can build a better artillery piece (upscaled LESHO, perhaps?). For another, the Siege Tank in SC2 has a 120mm cannon in siege mode, yeah?

Examine the neurons and see if anything comes to mind. Consider pumping self with drugs of the Mk II medsystem and going straight through the arcing electricity.

There's a difference between being trained for certain situations (when faced with 1 battlesuit, do X, if you have that weapon, do Y, if Avatar, use technique Z) and tactical insight (take that building on the hill. It's surrounded by small houses, like a favela. Avoid civilian casualties, but beware of radicals hiding among them). Which of course brings up the question of the AM's space magic, which I suspect has something to do with a weird anomaly rather than mere amps.))

((Makes Unholy's contraption look like a popgun, doesn't it? It's not the first 800mm, though, it took the gun from the Schwerer Gustav type railway gun, one of which was actually used at Sevastpol. Biggest artillery piece ever used in combat.

If the 'in combat' stipulation is take away, then you have Mallet's Mortar, a 914mm piece built for the Crimean War, but never used.))

((As far as our defenses are concerned, my opinion is that we really can't make informed decisions on what types of forces to use.  After all, there's a massive amount of unfamiliar tech in ER, usually with unknown manufacturing requirements.

The only group who arguably has full knowledge of the technology and how to use/produce it most efficiently, is the UWM.  So it stands to reason that the UWM's standard military setup is the most versatile, efficient, and effective way to apply that tech- within the limits of the UWM's own laws, at least.

So really, I recommend that we don't diverge from what the UWM does without first proving that our new method is more effective.

Sod commanders for example.  We haven't even proven that they're possible to make while remaining effective and safe to handle*.  Or heck, even necessary.  Sods are only effective within their trained areas of combat, but how expansive is that?  Can you tell a sod to clear a room in the safest way possible within twenty seconds, and have him figure it out?  How about telling a squad to clear a building?  A platoon, with a whole complex?  We already know the UWM has programmed sods to fight UWM forces (See them attacking Miya/Flint), so how many situations are we actually going to run into that require creative thought?


*Thinking of standard HMRC friendly fire here.

Sod Commander:"Friendly amp users determined dangerous.  Terminate on sight."

((Mallet's Mortar was British. Never used, but still the biggest artillery piece in the world, with the exception of the equally-large American Little David, which was used for testing aircraft bombs, and probably wasn't really intended as a weapon.
