Soon after the meeting, eight persons could be seen exiting the great compound. They didn't linger about. Everyone had prepared the plans for his future base well in advance, so all that was remaining now was hiring Megamind's engineers and getting the plans put in life.
Casual observers from the cost of either Britain or France could see something happening in the middle of the diving channel. Large ships were coming and going, small boats milling about, teams of robots diving underwater with materials clutched in whatever extremity they possessed. Very intent observers could notice a man of middle age standing at the bow of the largest ship. The Professor was looking at the construction of his underground base, but didn't see it - even facing the realization of the most sacred of his dreams, he could only think about a new doorknob design he dreamed about last night.

Hyperactif whirled around, looking over the few people he brought with him with gleaming eyes. Over the few people, and many robots. With a wild laugh, the mastermind does a cartwheel and runs away into the fortress while his minions follow him.

Traitors, every single one. Traitors, just like himself. As he passed around a corner, a tall man, his second in charge, nearly ran into him. "Your quarters are ready, sir!", he reported after a smart salute. Strayand responded with a sigh. So much to do. So many to conquer.

All his thoughts are focused on the future - his and the world's. If everything goes according to the plan, those futures will be one. Somewhere below him, a robot slipped from scaffolding and was swallowed by the lava below. Ryan didn't notice it.
