Apparently, just about any crew member will die in two hits. Probably around 75 damage, or maybe it varies based on the species.

3, same as a breach bomb. I don't know how shield piercing works for it, though - can it do damage even through shields? And what's the reload time?

Edit: Correction, wiki says it's 4. With the standard damage conversion... that's what, 60 hp damage? It's also quite long.

It can't damage through shields, sadly. Dunno about the recharge time.

Wow... Easy mode is EASY... Just cleared the run again with the Fed Cruiser while unlocking its Plan B...

Finally got around to checking - 5266 was my max score, not a victory though.

Highest winning score was 4726. Lowest was 4101, my first win ever.

Y'know what's really fun? Sector 1 in the Zolton Cruiser, when solar flares not only start a fire in the cockpit but knock it out as well. Your pisspoor Zolton crew would die before they could put the fire out, so you have to evacuate and drain several rooms of air, then wait for the fire to be put out, then for air to be restored, and finally fixing the helm all while further flares cause damage and force you to drain half the ship of oxygen, and THEN you have to wait for the engine to recharge. I took more damage from the flares than I did from the enemy ship, which went down before the first flare had even hit!

The way you guys talk about FTL it sounds almost like a puzzle game in disguise

"Ohh no there is a fire! should we let the crew fix it?"

"What? No, the crew is terrible at putting out a fire it is a trap!... What we really need to do is co-ordinate a air breach to put out the fire while making sure we have enough time to........"

Okay, still playing the Zolton cruiser, at a store. Should I get Burst Laser II, Fire Beam, or both?

Most puzzle games don't throw the pieces around every second. Or hide them under the carpet, for that matter.

It depends what games we are going to include in this... Hiding a clue under the carpet is very common.

Hiding a clue under the carpet, in a room full of different carpets, some of which are on fire, and some of which will shoot back

Fairly standard puzzle.

I once had to arrange soupcans in a pantry and most of them were A. Much more nightmare inducing trust me.

I used to work in a library. Simple alphabetical order doesn't bother me :P

Anyway, I think I'm on track towards unlocking the slug ship. I got a quest marker from a slug pirate who would have given me the bio-beam, but I heard that you needed to defeat the quest ship in a certain way. Is that true or not?

Burst Laser II, always.

Fire Beam, ehhh, if you can make it work, then yes.
