Why would the aliens care? They won already once the military is defeated. Civilian armies are meaningless to them.

The humans couldn't even draw things out because of the Alien sensors.

Interview regarding Enemy Within. I certainly like the concept of the new alien announced in this video.

So squadsight snipers are no longer a viable strategy? Aww :(

Well they were pretty powerful before, there might be a few alternate strategies, like leaving a guard with the sniper, or taking another squadsight sniper with your main squad and them watching over each other.

Ability roulette sounds interesting, there are some abilities which might be totally useless for other classes (assault with revive) but then you could also get awesome ones (assault with bullet-swarm).

Yeah, it sounds like you can just have two squadsight snipers covering each other.

The ability roulette does sound pretty cool. I just hope those Seekers can't fly.

Aside from weapon-specific abilities, all class abilities are available to all soldiers, but randomly

Their point is to capture the human race as intact as possible. (Resources are meaningless, they can just gather any from uninhabited planets). Considering humans aren't that important too, (I mean, we're not that strong, and not that advanced*), they need to capture us with our culture intact. After all, we're just useless meat without that, as we're well within their abilities to engineer. It's our unique outlook on matters that allows us to see opportunities where they don't.

It's a Second Wave option. So not part of the core game, but something fun you can do to spice things up.

Man..can you imagine a sniper with Sentinel and the ability to do reaction fire when an enemy shoots? That'd be brutal.

I'm more interested in Itchy Trigger Tentacle. That completely and utterly changes the strategy of movement.

Somehow I suspect the Shivs still won't be useful in this expansion.

They are AMAZING in the early game (or if you get early game enemies) because their armor lets them outright charge the enemy.
