Did anybody else notice:
Release date USA the 8.
Rest of the world  the 13.

I read that last part as:
Rest of the world pirate date the 8.

It's out on the 12th for the rest of the world and the 9th for the USA.

But yeah, it's pretty much 'pirate day' on the 9th, too.

These dual release dates are just awful. I have pre-ordered, I've pre-loaded, I'll probably pirate the game to get it on the 9th until I can play legitimately and transfer my save game.

I don't see how a 3 day wait is 'just awful'. Annoying, possibly... but there are far worse things.

The 3 day waits tend to be because of how American stores and European stores differ, which they impose on digital sales by threatening to not stock the games at all for any platform unless the release dates are the same. As I understand it American stores like it to be in the middle of the week, as that way it evens out the "mid-week lull" in sales, whilst European stores like it to be the end of the week, since Friday is payday for most jobs so people have the most disposable income at that time.

Is quite annoying though.

I hate it when people start thinking about hours, and I still have to think about days :(

Heck, I think I'm just gonna connect through VPN. The game is preloaded anyways!

Ain't No Cavalry Comin'
Have a soldier survive every mission in a full game.

Do you have to win the game to get the achievement, or just lose miserably?

I'm torn on whether or not I should buy this.  It looks pretty fun, and the pre-order bonuses are tempting, but $50 is a lot.  It's only a day and a half until it comes out, and if I buy it then I'll miss out on the free copy of Civ 5.

I was just at a friend's house watching him play it on his flashed 360. I left in anger and jealousy. It looks better than I thought. Time is crawling now.

You can buy it for less than that, bud.

I bought mine for £22 via GreenManGaming with a code - which works out around £35.

Have a search across the net - you WILL find it cheaper than $50.
