Yeah sorry, was frustrated at myself at the point I got to you with not checking everything before starting, it was either make you cut down for the whole time, or reroll EVERYTHING for 3 different people...
im ok with chopping trees as necessary no problem. but chopping trees was my first task before building the bridge. so i thought i would have enough wood to do it. instead it got ninjad? i shouldnt be at fault for not knowing if i have enough rescources for something. i posted first after all

Have a look at ONE DAY worth of chopping got in the amount of wood, the needed amount of DR Hits for a single log and the amount of work needed via DR Hits to make a bridge...

Going to be a little more kinder this time round...

Day 1: Gather Vines
Day 2: Make Threads
Day 3: Make a Dwarf Tribal Spear
FYI on three things. 1, you Have a good amount of thread left last I checked. 2 Your last try at making a primitive Spear wasn't successful unguided. 3. Perhaps a little more detail on would have a better chance.

Such a typical DF start. :) Random dwarves fighting over carpentry stations, and farmers planting the Armok forsaken cloth plants instead of food. Can't wait until I get here and start trying to slaughter things for bones. XD This assuming there is a here to get to by the time my migrant wave arrives...

Trust your calculator. It's something to count on.
Pencils could be made with erasers at both ends, but what would be the point?

Nevyn, could Knapping fall under Stonecrafting as well? I mean, experienced stonecrafters would have to be able to use the tools to make a variety of things, INCLUDING SHARP EDGES!
Sorry, I just had to say it.

Oh, and btw, would cleaning fish give me fish bones? If so, I could make some bone bolts for out crossbowdorf.

EDIT: Grammar and spelling fail. After all, I'm a frickin' grammar nazi hater!

Good point with the stonecrafting...
Fishbones in Perch are more like Cartilage, you could barely make a toothpick from... actually that's all they would be good for. Larger Fish may allow you to do so though...

I wonder if any of our spear makers noticed this.

Migrants arrive midsummer, so thats what, 15 turns away. Gotta make it hard. Plus gives more time for more to join...
Also to note, only Ropereed seeds were available at the time they decided to plant seeds...

Detail of teh Dwarf Tribal Spear?

Here ye go - A simple spear made of a sturdy branch, razor sharp rock spearhead, and a thick layer of threads tying the base of the spearhead to the top of the shaft. The threads are wrapped around teh spearhead, and if the spearhead has any natural holes those are also used to bind the spearhead to the shaft. The threads are heavily knotted, the shaft long, and teh spearhead sturdy, but it it is quite well balanced as well making it both an excellent melee, and ranged fighting tool.
