Campaign I: Saduk - Sixth Turn

Ashley Malkus and Konstanz Scriptor
I assume he wanted me to go psychic form to do it

Go and retrieve the Eldar witch
Wait for somebody to show up for a while, and if no one does, find an as secluded area possible and take a sneak peek of the area were the Eldar found them. If necessarily, try to shield the my fellow psyker/s.

Malkus nods and returns to Saun. He closes his eyes, blocks out the world around him and lets go. [Focus:4][Control:6][Power:4-1=3] He races through the sky, flashing past the city and returning to the exercise fields. The armoured battle still rages on. For Malkus' Warp-eyes it seems both blurred and perfectly clear. Everything seems to move overly slowly. The combat sounds distant, like coming from several kilometres away.

[6] He finds Saun alone, the Eldar nowhere to be seen. Not surprising. It was unlikely he could've held the Warlock at bay on his own. Malkus approaches Saun, and is surprised to feel a wave of pride spread from the other psyker.

'I killed it, Ashley. The xenos tried to escape, but I killed it.' he says. Seems like he was stronger - or got luckier - than expected. Unfortunately, the psykers now have no-one to show to the Lord-Commander. Coazan won't be pleased.

On the roof of Calhose Manor, [5] Konstanz Scriptor retreats behind a sturdy metal pipe. The smell coming from it is horrible, but that just means none of the crewmen want to come near it either. [Focus:6][Control:3][Power:5+2=6] His form takes off into the skies, glowing with sheer psychic energy and leaving a massive beacon of warp-energy for anyone with even the slightest amount of psychic potential to see.

He doesn't have to go to the training fields - he thinks, and he is there. Saun and Malkus watch Scriptor's new radiant form in amazement.

With the Eldar gone, they have no task here - but the Imperial forces in the raging armoured battle down below might need a hand. While they'd need to be physically present to use their powers to their full, destructive potential, striking like this could still prove quite effective against the Eldar. Konstanz isn't supposed to be here, though, and he risks punishment if he doesn't return to his body.

Sergeant Grygur Urugur and Sergeant Micelus Abbar
Urugur voxed back.
"No, don't let them know we here yet, but keep an eye on them and if you see one of them try to take a shot, open fire. Try to identify a squad leader if you can and make him a priority target."
He reported the situation to Abbar and HQ, before ordering the Hellhound crew to damn well try again and get that canister in position (in front of the farmhouse).
Then he got himself the hell into cover before he was spotted.

"Urugur, we're going to wait for the Xenos to attack. We should be able to take the brunt of the attack. Your men should ambush the eldar when they get close enough."

After a quick planning session on the vox, the two Sergeants begin orchestrating their defense. The Chimera moves as silently as it can to behind the farmstead and then shuts its engine down alltogether. A soldier joins Trooper Vas in the top of the building, though on a different floor. The sniper himself continues to keep an eye on the Eldar approaching from the forest, while Abbar's men file out of the Chimera and wait for orders behind the farmhouses.

[6] The Hellhound crew finally remove the mostly-empty canister and rush to place it under the top hedge [6] with zero noise or unnecessary movement. Most stealth specialists would be jealous.

[3] 'Another squad coming in, sarge. And the first five have spotted the hedge. They've stopped moving. Still out of range for the explosion, I think.' Trooper Vas reports, changing his position to be more protected by the farmstead's sturdy stone walls.

Laric and Markon Joanos
Markon swore, then yelled again "Fire the Battle Cannon on that damned Wave Serpent! And keep firing those bolters!"
[Focus Fire] Their shields can't resist firepower of that magnitude!
Keep firing ! Dont let them get closer or we'll be surrounded soon ! Shoot at the first damaged Falcon with Autocannon and the second with Plasmacannons

Markon Joanos continues spewing out orders at a rapid pace, [Tactic: Focus Fire][Leadership:5-1=4] almost too fast for his crew to keep up with. The Battle Cannon on his tank spins around to track the escaping troop carrier, while [CR:5/5/2] two of his secondary gunners keep up their destructive Heavy Bolter fire. [Dodges:4+1=5/5+1=6] The Fire Prism pulls right hard, leaving the slow-moving weapons trailing in its wake.

[Eldar Targeting:4/4][Combat Roll:4] While the Destructum's primary opponent reloads, its friend is more than willing to return fire on its behalf. [Dodge:3-1=2] The Destructum takes its first hit of the battle, the Prism Cannon unleashing another lance of terrifying energy. [Damage:239] The heavy tank shakes as the laser hits, melting down and smashing apart thick armor plating. The tank is in no position to counter-attack with the cannon fixed on the fleeing Wave Serpent. Markon orders the gunner to fire, [1] and the Serpent has no time to defend itself.

[CR:6][Dodge:4-2+1+1=4] Even with the full co-operation of the machine-spirit and all the skills the gunner can muster, the shell thrown at the Wave Serpent manages to miss. The nimble little vehicle soon escapes from range, no doubt to deliver a hold full of soldiers to their rear.

Laric's tank [Combat Rolls:5/6] fires all weapons it can, [Dodges:3+1=4/4+1=5] but neither weapon hits. Maroch finishes reloading, but not in time to participate in the firing.

[Eldar Targeting:6/3/4/5][CR:3/3/1/4/5/4] The Eldar tanks seem to have begun co-ordinating their attacks, because in the next few minutes, every single of those in range attempt to fire upon Laric.

[Dodges:4-1-1=2/5-1-1=3/3-1-1=1/6-1-1=4/4-1-1=2] With Selop on the wheel, the results aren't very surprising. [Damages:99+88=187/137-66=71=258][Damage:135+255+84=474][4][Damage:14-6=8]

[Total Damage:258+474+8=740]

The smoking wreck that once was the Iron Cobra continues on in silence, the crew too amazed to discover their tank still intact after that barrage - if intact is the right word. It might be best to retreat.

[5] Avenging fire from Laric's comrades hits the Eldar hard. [2] However, the promised reinforcements are nowhere to be seen. What's taking Stalos and the rest so long?

Saun killing the Warlock was actually a better option than you bringing him to the Lord-Commander. I'll say no more.

Micelus, it was left a bit unclear where your troops were supposed to be, so I compromised and left them hidden behind the farmstead. You can still manouever them around to the other side of the road or inside the farmstead, or wherever you want them to go.

Crouched behind cover in the farmhouse, Urugur voxed his reply back to the sniper on the floor above him. They were going to wait for the Xenos to get in their improvised killing zone and then crush them before they could even move.

"Roger that Vas. Keep an eye out for that second group but keep your sights trained on that canister. If they move through the hedge blow it as soon as they're all in or through. The rest of you, wait for the signal. We want them close enough to smell their foul Xenos breath..."

Wait for the Eldar to move through the hedge; blow the canister (sergeant fire at it first, if it doesn't blow then sniper, then if he fails, all fire at it until it does... sniper to hold fire if not needed for canister blowing) once they are all in or through the hedge. Once the canister blows (or if it fails and they get to extra close range to the farmhouse) all men open fire. And if possible then charge out and assault to finish them off.

If they avoid the hedge... hold fire and ambush at closest possible range, rapid fire.

The tank battle.

@Micelus; again, I don't know where you want your troops to go, so unless you state a location/s I'm going to have them stare at their feet for the rest of the battle.

Campaign I: Saduk - Seventh Turn

Ashley Malkus and Konstanz Scriptor
Those Eldar tanks are over-engineered, they don't need those grav thrusters :3
Now that Saun and Ashley aren't in as much danger any longer, retreat back to body, get out from behind the pipe again and wait for whatever I am waiting for on the roof.

With the Eldar gone, Malkus and Saun begin surveying the battlefield for suitable targets. [2] Saun decides to go forr the Vypers, while Malkus focuses on the real threat, the grav-tank assault.

[Focuses:3+1=4/6+1=6][Control:6+1=6/3+1=4][Power:5-1-1=3/5-1+2=6] Saun, a budding pyrokine, lets fly a volley of fireballs that [Dodge:3-2+2=3] race towards the nearest Eldar aircraft. The pilot spots the wall of fire and dives down, [Damage:15-12=3] the attack only grazing the fast Eldar vehicle. Saun looks disappointed, but it was to be expected. Outside their physical bodies, their attacks on the physical world are less effective.

Ashley has no intention of doing of doing something as unsubtle and clumsy as her comrade. She takes her time, weaving intricate webs of Warp-energy around the entire first line of Eldar grav-tanks. The air around the tanks seems to slow down and blur, the Warp seeking to enter the real world. The psyker is skilled enough to prevent that, and launches her attack. [1] In the span of a millisecond, every single engine on the Eldar tanks disappears abruptly into the Empyrean. The result is so clean you'd never guess there had been an engine there. All across the battlefield, Eldar vehicles ground to a halt, their crews thrown into an utter panic by the attack.

Ashley allows herself a smug little smile - and then she sees half a dozen psychic signatures rising from beyond the exercise fields, minds filled with deadly energy and intent on taking him out for good. [2] The first two attacks streak towards her from across the battlefield, [6] though they don't seem to have noticed Saun yet. [Focuses:3+1=4/3+1=4][Controls:5+1=6/5+1=6][Powers:5+1-1=5/4+1-1=4] The first blow comes like a gigantic hammer, [Dodge:3] and while it's slowed down by her makeshift barriers [Damage:85-75=10] it disrupts her psychic form enough to cause her body to fall over in the physical world.

[Dodge:6] The next comes as a pyrokinetic bolt of flames, similar to Saun's attempt earlier, but Ashley deflects it quickly enough.

The Eldar Warlocks approach. Her barriers last time were excellent, but any mistake here might cost her her life.

Konstanz, having returned to his body ages ago, knows nothing of this. He waits for someone to come on the roof. [1] When finally someone does approach him, it's not anyone who he had wanted to meet. Commissar Aurug spits at his feet. The tall, handsome man joined the 320th just before it arrived in Saduk, and has seen fit to demonstrate his hate of psykers, sanctioned or not, at every chance he gets.

'Skulking around in the shadows, witch? I knew I should keep an eye on your kind. Coming up here alone, away from that traitor Coazan, no doubt to open the way for the Enemy.' he spews, a glint of madness in his eye. 'I should execute you, here and now, before you can cause any more harm to the regiment. You are only a danger and a liability to the Imperium.'

He leaves the words hanging in the air, playing with the grip of the heavy stub-pistol hanging from his belt.

Enemies
6 Eldar Warlocks, psychic forms closing in fast. Eldar Psyker

Sergeant Grygur Urugur and Sergeant Micelus Abbar

"Men, if the Xenos come through the hedge, wait for Urugur's men to blow up the canister. Once that's done, use suppressing fire on the first eldar you see. Keep a lookout for any Xeno reinforcements ""Should they not enter through the hedge, stay silent, hold fire, and ambush with rapid fire."

The forces of Sergeant Abbar and Sergeant Urugur wait in silent anticipation. If the Eldar bypass the hedge, their ambush will be much less effective. It would only take one mistake to ruin everything now.

[6] 'Thank the Emperor, they're going through.' Trooper Vas voxes in. The first Guardian squad begin making their way through the few gaps in the overgrown hedge. [3] They don't seem overly concerned with an ambush. Perhaps they don't expect anyone here, or they're underestimating the Guard. That's a mistake they'll soon pay for. Once the first few are through, Grygur takes the shot, not wanting to risk the Guardians noticing their makeshift explosive.

[6] It's a perfect shot, and none of them see it coming. [Dodges:5-1=4/4-1=3/2-1=1/1-1=1/2-1=1] The las-bolt penetrates through the canister and ignites the deadly promethium inside in an instant. The old hedge disappears in a magnifciently bright ball of fire, hungry flames devouring the dry leaves and branches faster than the eye can follow. Only one of the Eldar - perhaps retaining some glimmer of caution - manages to hit the ground and save himself from the explosion. The rest [Damages:21-36=0/90+36=126/60+36=96/48+36=84] are caught inside the inferno, three burning to the bone before anyone can react, and one fleeing blindly [3] towards the side.

[CRs: Two Failures, Four Successes][Dodges:2-1-1=1/3-1-1=1/5-1=4/5-1=4] Two volleys slam into the aflame Eldar and [Damages:14+6=20/8+6=14] send him sliding down to the feet of the other one - who stays on the ground while las-bolts strike into the ground around him. [CR:2-1+1=2] He is in no position to return fire.

[Tactic: Suppressing Fire][Leadership:4-1=3][CR:3-1=2] After the spectacular death of most of the Eldar, nobody remembers Sergeant Abbar's orders to keep the survivors down with sustained fire. Some of them fire at him normally anyhow. [1 Shot Failed, 2 Shots Successful][Total Damage:14-6=8/8+6=14=22] Two of them actually manage to hit him as well, though he's still breathing.

Trooper Vas reports that the second Eldar squad is heading to the right in the forest, possibly trying to flank the farmstead from the side of the road. Unfortunately for them, the men in the lower building have a free avenue of fire to the right as well - and if that fails, the Chimera and Hellhound are ready.

He also spots yet more Eldar in the distance, following the second squad. These look different from the Guardians, presumably Eldar heavy infantry.

Laric and Markon Joanos
"Reload the gun, you bastards! And take that fething Fire Prism DOWN!"

[Focus Fire] on the fire prism.

Back it up Selop, we need to help the reinforcements when they arrive ! Go after the Eldara and shoot at the Wave Serpent with Plasmacannons [Focus fire] and the almost destroyed Falcon with Autocannon

The battle of the exercise fields continues, the Destructum, the battered Iron Cobra and the ten other Imperial tanks still fighting despite the enemy's superior force.

'Reload the gun, you bastards! And take th...' is as far as Markon Joanos gets. Many things happen at once. The air seems to turn thick and solid, like they were going through mud - so much the crews find it hard to breathe. The world blurs, and for a moment, they can hear whispers from intelligencies beyond the capability of mortals to understand. And the engines of every single Eldar grav-tank close to them are erased from existance. The event is accompanied by a single sound, like the crack of a whip.

The Eldar tanks begin slowing down, grinding to a halt. While their crews fly into a panic, the Imperials begin to realize what's just happened. Words cannot describe their joy.

[Tactic: Focus Fire][Leadership:3-1=2] Markon is too stunned to remind about a lock on the vehicle, but's it not needed in any case. [CRs:5/1/4] The only members of the crew quick-witted enough to act, the two Heavy Bolter gunners open up on the immobile Fire Prism. [Dodges:3-3=1/5-3=2] Right now, it's impossible to miss. The Bolters hammer at the Fire Prism, [Damages:81+42=123+67=190] punching through the weakened armor and smashing through the crew inside. If anyone survives, they're in no condition to pilot a grav-tank.

[Eldar Targeting:1] The second Fire Prism is too busy frantically reloading their Cannon to fire, and the Wraithlord has no interest in the Destructum either. [2] A Vyper comes in for an attack run to avenge the destruction of the first Prism. [CR:6][Dodge:6-1+1=6] Despite its efforts, none of its guns score a hit.

[2] The order for Selop to turn away so Laric can get a clear shot is understood a little too late, and the Iron Cobra gains on its prey little. Unlike the nearest grav-tanks, the Wave Serpent has been spared from the strange attack. [CRs:3][Dodge:5-3=2] The Autocannon fires at the motionless Falcon, [Damage:147+119=266] blowing it to cinders with a single concentrated volley.

[Tactic: Focus Fire][Leadership:6-1=5][CR:6+1=6] After gaining a lock, the Plasma Cannons fire as one. [Dodge:3+1+1-2=3] The bolts both detonate just behind the Wave Serpent, throwing the tank around like a ragdoll. [Damage:144-84=60][Damage:72-84=0] It's not enough to bring it down, unfortunately.

[Eldar Targeting:5/3/2][CRs:6/3/2] The Eldar might be as easy to hit as the broad side of a barn, but they've still got teeth. The first Falcon fires at Laric's tank again, with [Dodge:1-1-1=1] unsurprising results. [1][1] The Autocannon is completely blown apart by a burst of Scatter Laser fire and [Damage:101+47+60=208] weakening the battered tank even further. [Dodge:4-1-1=2][Damage:63] The follow-up Pulse Laser strike isn't much better.

[1+1=2] Still no reinforcements anywhere - what's taking them so long?

Enemies (Markon Joanos)
1 Eldar Fire Prism at 270/600 HP with Prism Cannon [1/1], beside the Destructum, Close Range. Mobile Skimmer, Immobilized
3 Eldar Vypers, circling in the sky, Close Range. Fast Speeder

Name: Argholest krutz

Gender: male

Position: Sanctioned psyker

Background : an former feral worlder, that was left to the imperial bastion on the world as he started to show manifestations of telekinesis in his late teens
, you better not ask about his homeworld ever. really. he remembers every bit of the pain he felt as they made the optical nerve scanning.

"Nothing much to do but wait for the Xenos to make a move...But there are a few things we can do."

Abbar thought up a plan. His squad would try and pin down enemy troops and if needed, run them over with the chimera. It was a basic one, but it might just work.

Whoever drove the chimera, get in it and prepare to move it on my signal. 3 of you watch for the first sign of eldar and use suppressing fire. The rest of you watch out for any reinforcements and focus on them (overwatch)."

He opened up the vox and spoke to Urugur.

"I've sent one of my men to ready the chimera in case the xenos become too much of a pain. What are your plans?"
After some planning with Urugur, Abbar decided to get every guardsmen firing on the reapers suppressively. He also voxed in to the chimera to attack the reapers.

Stat-wise, Eldar psykers are slightly more powerful. I can't do anything about the RNG, which loves our little Sanctioned heroes.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!
