The guards give Khenal the key to the hospital and he goes inside.

 "I need to get to Khenal and tell him my testimony before the real facts come in. also I need to know what happened to charity, too." Couth whispers, doing the best he can to keep a low profile. "but first I need to get these guards out of the way."

he takes out his ale flask, takes a big swill and walks up to them.

 "Halt. the hospital is closed to visitors. whoever you came to see will have to wait until this assassination business is taken care of." the beefy unicorn guard droned before Couth could say a word.

why would the hospital be closed off? is my little loose end still alive? Couth wondered nervously.
 
"oh, well I came here to see you two, actually," Couth lied

"see, I'm the bartender down at the Unshorn Fetlock and I came here to tell you all enlisted guards get free drinks tonight for bravely risking your lives for our fortress. and..."

"to calm everyone down after the..you know..assassination" he said in a more hushed tone.

"Attempted' assassination." the Guard growled

"yes, of course" let out with a bullshitter's smile.

'let me through so I can fix that.'Couth thought.

 "well, come on then, lets get going!" the Pegasus guard revs his wings in excitement but the more battle worn guard was harder to fool. he anchored his partner to the ground and said "sorry to turn down your generous offer, but we stay here. Captains Orders."

"well, don't know about you but I'M getting my free ale!" the Pegasus guard snapped. he flies off.

"hey, wait! come back!" the other guard runs after him.

Couth sighs in relief and pulls out a rouges best friend; The lock-pick.

he works the lock in seconds.

when he opens the door he sees the notoriously psychotic Feresden free and Khenal magically whirling a goddamn chain around.

"yeah, Buck that!" Couth exclaimed. "I'll deal with with him later! let's see if Charity or Nicolta are still alive first."

he strides down the hallway, whistling a little tune he picked up called Twisted Nerve.

'At least it didn't take long to get Friesden situated in her new cell.'

I pause as I pass the hospital entrance on my way to Charity's room.

'...Where the hay are the guards?  I told them to only go off shift after being relieved by the next shift!'

I scowl as I enter the hospital to make sure everything is alright.  I have my spear with me, though not drawn.  If there are no guards at the hospital entrance, something might be wrong.  I cautiously make my way toward Charity's hospital room, hoping that I'm just being paranoid.

Also, linky for those who missed it.  I'm still working out the kinks for how to transcribe this beast, and the chapters have been getting longer as I go.  I think the latest chapter is going to be the average length for the rest of it, though.  Which reminds me, anyone have the skills of an artist to make a cover image?

"Thank you very much," I say as I walk away.
Told you we should ask for directions.
"It didn't work the last two times though"
I still won this time.
As I near my destination I see that the guards that were there when I last left have vanished.
That's never a good sign.
I didn't even bother agreeing as I entered the hospital.

(Khenal just read through all of the Glitterglen stuff you posted on FIMfiction, it's all great keep it up. However, I would like to make one small correction to your notes at the bottom of "We are not alone in the jungle." In it you claimed that Keshi ponies are corrupted unicorns with a tentacle instead of a horn. This is not correct. The three standard castes of the Diomedians are Keshi, Darkbolts, and Tentacle ponies. Keshi's are basically corrupted earthponies. (which I think are bigger? Can someone confirm that for me?) Naturally Darkbolts are blood sucking bat winged pegasi, and Tentacle ponies are corrupted unicorns with tentacle horns.)

After Psycho is returned to bed he is stitched up by the Doctor. After Carrot awakens Charity, still recovering from her injury though much better than before, comes to visit him.

"Hello Captain. I heard you tried to drag yourself out of this place and reopened all your wounds to do it." says the unicorn in a playful mocking tone.

Oh damn it. I'm retarded. I read that as "please talk to me" Buck. Never mind, forget I wrote anything.
