I never got around understanding how such huge kill-counts appear.
How many years of history ?

I think he has a knife from Call of Duty. The ones which kill in one hit.

I imagine him saying "You want my crown? Here take it!" then beats you with it.

I actually picture playing checkers and saying "King me." I think he takes that part a little more literally than intended. Demon chess and checkers, anyone?

Named demons seem to be the strongest creatures in the game.

I mean, hell, just look at all those bears they killed. Good luck with this.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Its funny, because in the past i've seen demons get struck down by grizzly bears. Guess they wanted revenge on them and killed hippies on the way. I can just picture a giant muscular brute coati killing things with his bare hands, and a skinny weasal with a blindfold *Its hard for me to picture things without eyes..* that kills people with his crown and Iron Knife. And eating an hippie arm at all times.

side effect of being huge and using syndromes in a war-type environment.  it's highly random but FBs can be much "stronger" than named clowns.  FBs tend to be larger, and more often composed of inorganic material.  i'll bet on the diamond three-eyed anteater with deadly dust over a organic clown-lord anyday.

FBs dont really participate in worldgen much, if at all, though.

Sure but you can also get some seriously powerful clowns too. Its really just a matter of luck.

a common thread of the high killcount clown lords i've observed is that they are usually killed, if at all, by titans.

human civs also seem to have a "capture" mechanic, where they will "kidnap" the clown lord from the field of battle and hold it prisoner.  at this stage, the clown lord is actually recruitable by adventurers.  then there seems to be an escape chance, after which i presume you'd find the clown living in a lair much as a night creature does.

i am unsure of the civ that had captured the clown would give a kill quest, as they were technically a part of the civ under the position of "prisoner", but other civs that they remain the enemy of surely would.  i'd guess at the civ-leader quest level.

Meh. Any luck with your goblin fortress thing? Do your goblins still get clown leaders? It'd be pretty cool.

they do indeed have clown leaders, as i kept the variable positions.  unfortunately i cant make them immagratable without discarding the variable positions and making static positions with twenty different allowable demon types.

i've still got at least one more thing to try before i give up entirely.  hopefully in the next few versions i'll have better modding tools to accomplish what i desire.

I kind of want to take these guys on.  Upload the save!

At least we humans don't engrave things or put images of events on our stuff as much as dwarfs do. We'd have murals of presidents being assassinated and such all over D.C. as well as your standard cheeseburgers, Pontiac TransAms, and insects.
