I don't know why you're acting so surprised, as apparently the Soviet Union is part of the World Team Alliance (ie the one headed by the United States). Really, if the USSR and the USA are best bros (or at least allies) then China can be allied with Mexico as well. It makes perfect sense (or at least back when Mexico and the US were evenly matched militarily).

I certainly will keep playing mostly safely up. It's refreshing not to see messages of China nuking Iraq, Soviets nuking China, UK nuking the Soviets and then France nuking the UK. And thanks, it's good to be back.

They were still able to retaliate.
