I actually tried Super Iraq mode once, decided from the start to pull an AoD world death plan and launched ALL my nukes at them.

They were still able to retaliate.
I once did that to the USSR. They were crushed. The game glitched up and gave me so much money it went offscreen and over 6000 nukes. It crashed about 5 minutes later.

My current game:
1990-1991: I decide to not intervene with Saddam Hussein's conquest agenda and allow him to take over Kuwait, Saudi, and Jordan. However I still vow to defend Israel and deploy 120,000 troops to Israel. Cambodia, Libya, Syria, & Burma all become Capitalist (or Developing) on their own. Zaire and Guatemala becomes Communist.

1992: I decide to stage Coups in Iraq and Iraqi-occupied territories, successfully switching the ideology of said countries over to Capitalism. Iraq is now Capitalist and still has their territorial gains. I then help Iraq take over Iran. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union is growing in strength and holds 27.9% military influence while I only hold 19.5%.

1993: Soviet military influence drops to 22.5%. Zaire and North Korea both leave the Soviet WTA which I find peculiar since both nations are still communist. Due to this unexpected development, I realize I am able to help reunited the Korean Penninsula without starting World War Three. (I still can't surgical strike them since they border the USSR but I can invade) First I sabotage their assets until their ambition is 6.0 and their ethics is 1.0. I then deploy additional troops until I am only 1,000 shy of the number of troops owned by South Korea. I send South Korea all the Military and Political Aid they need. At the start of June, the United States invades North Korea. South Korea invades as well. The Second Korean War lasts for over three weeks before North Korea surrenders upon demand. The United States lost 454 troops while South Korea lost 460. North Korea lost well over 100,000 men. As the larger invader, South Korea assumes control of North Korea. As for Zaire, I simply Coup them since occupying such a poor country tends to eat at my QofL very quickly.

1994: Burundi becomes Capitalist on their own. United States cuts troops in South Korea to 300,000 while deploying 300,000 more troops to South Korean-controlled North Korea.

Current Events: Okay, now I am confused. Despite having my military spending at 1,000 billion, the military & nuclear aid now stands at "zero". Even my nuclear spending and nuclear influence is at total "zero". The Soviets now have 60%. This is unacceptable.

My Current Game: (Continued)
1994:
Well... its seems I overlooked Albania earlier... they switched to "Developing Capitalism on their own.

Decline of Centralism: Seems the balance of power is shifting in Africa big time! During the first two years, it seemed as though the Soviet WTA might dominate Africa since Zaire had become communist by the start of 1991. However, things have shifted in my favor. Liberia and Djibouti had switched to Developing Capitalist at the start of '92 as did Libya the year before. However while I made my new allies have excellent ratings in regards to human rights, ambition, ethics, and peace, I didn't do much in that area since I was kind of focused on other matters described in previous post on this topic. That all changed in 1994. Since Ivory Coast had caused Liberia lots of grief after the latter whiched from Nationalist to Dev. Capitalist (such as surgical strike exchanges), I decided to help Liberia take over Ivory Coast. I then decided to unite the Congo by helping my new ally Zaire take over Congo. I only lost 12 men total in the two conflicts. About a month later, I decided to resolve the territorial disputes between my ally Libya and her neighbors (Algeria, Niger, & Chad). I helped Libya take over all three of those countries at the cost of only 15 US troops total.

Brink of World War III: The Soviets were once again causing trouble in Japan. First they tried to supply rebels in Japan but failed. Then they successfully sabotaged Japan's economic assets, which I condemned the former for. Since this seemed to repeat every year, I decided to show the Soviets that I meant business. I launched a total of four surgical strikes against the Soviet Union. For some reason, their only response was one surgical strike (which failed) and a few condemnations (most of which failed). I think the reason they didn't nuke me was because before the crisis, Soviet ambition was well below 4.0 which the CIA conciders the "red flag" point. Later the sabotaged successfully the assets of France. During the Crisis, I also rose my troop levels in Japan to 200,000 and later did the same in France. (I made a point earlier in deploying some troops to every friendly country bordering the USSR and any friendly country bordering those countries. I did the same for states bordering Germany due to the large Soviet troop presense in that country). In the end however, the conflict cooled down and World War III has been averted...this time...

Well, here come the images. I don't have the slightest idea of what I was trying to do.

Angel of Death: Despite what you may hear about from other players about not sticking your nose into other people's affairs, I strongly suggest that you try to defuse the tensions between China and the USSR. If you don't and they nuke each other, the United States will suffer as well. In an earlier game when I nuked Iraq with ten missiles in retaliation for invading Saudi and somehow managed to avoid nuclear retaliation, I still lost millions of people to the fallout the following month plus my troop numbers went down from 2,100,000 to 1,700,000. Four years later, my QofL had fallen greatly and there was still conciderable fallout.

So much international intrigue...

How would one go about curbing the warmongering of the two Eastern powers?  Use diplomacy and stuff to lower ambition, raise ethic, maybe?

Diplomacy is the way to go. War would be crippling, due to huge military losses and the chance of retaliation of the nuclear kind.

It has to be Germany.

But, Germany isn't as powerful as you.  Not like say, Iraq.  They might actually back down if you threaten them.

Well, the question is: Why would we want to prevent a nuclear war? Better to back down, and get ready to invade the smoldering ruins of Eurasia.

Hmmm...you might be right.  A nuked USSR is much easier to invade.

The problem is, when the bombs start dropping, EVERYONE gets in on it.  Countries like Iraq will most likely nuke the U.S. out of nowhere.  So far, AoD's slow and steady approach to this game is working.  Not preventing the "German Air Strike" is like rolling the dice over the whole world.

...I smell a poll!

Don't cut back on the military.  Don't leave yourself vulnerable to Iraqvasion.

Well, I've most-favoured most of Europe and Africa. I've also recieved a lot of cultural exchanges and strengthening of economic ties.

They must want all of the Black Metal for themselves! :P

Well, did it help us?
