You said 1000+1 ducat, Iituem said 1=100. But this probably doesn't matter, it will still be the same, just with more zeros after it.

and no it's not the same, if you only make 12 ducats your only making .12 of an old ducat.

no, that litterally IS exactly the same. The conversion doesn't matter because a CONVERSION DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. Litterally...thats exactly what the definition is. We're talking 1 foot or 12 inches here. Changing the 1/100/100 means nothing. There's a reason why i did a fundamental change to the trade system - BECAUSE IT HAD TO BE DONE. You really think i would have put a few hours of work into something that could have been solved by a decimal point?

Mic, edit your holdings to read something more like "Inn(Size 3 Commercial): 3d/yr (1.5d taxes to Queen)"

That way -we- don't forget at the yearly tax time

I still don't see how I own it. There's still an innkeeper...I mean he's charging me for the rooms, you don't charge the owner for something do you?

The amounts considered to be paid for anything like 'rooms' or refreshments are uncounted just smile and nod at those parts :) And at the time you didnt own it - you still dont, you're managing it and paying taxes

except a brewer wouldn't cost the same as an infantry unit, which in the first game, they did. 1 ducat.  Now a brewer could cost 5 ducats for a month, while a military would obviously cost significantly more.

Why would they? It's not inflation, it's making the game make sense.

A brewer itself shouldn't cost anything unless they're producing something that can be sold, which then would mean that 1d for a "Specialist" is fine - but would also require a place a business - but businesses themselves have other benefits besides income. A brewer producing beer would be able to produce * Size of business per -season- at 4incs less than base price. You'd make that 1d for the specialist back inside 1-2 seasons depending on the system being used for trade. 4d for a size 1 business is an average of 16incs of profit per year. Which given wine last game had an inc of .4 thats 12.4d/year just profit margin, not including acual price diff in the materials vs whats sold (even with the system i modified its 6.2). With a business you're also paying the materials cost (at base) so given 1d for grains(hopps) 12.4-4 is 8.4d/yr profit (4.2 mod'd system) PLUS the 1d/year in flat gains from the business.

And a military unit of 1d/yr is basically peasants with pitchforks, which is about right as well.

That simply makes the numbers larger, it doesn't make anything else easier to do. What you want is an entire rewrite to the games currency, which would take FOREVER to balance. There's nothing wrong with the system as it is.

The most i could forsee doing is adding a secondary currency: like dimes to a dollar. 10? = 1d sort of thing. That also doesnt make anything remotely easier, it actually makes twice as much bookkeeping

How's this.  DON'T multiply everything by ten.  Give everything a new price.  I don't know why you would just assume to multiply everything by ten?  That would defeat the purpose.
