I'd support the 1-3 city states idea only if we're still allowed to leave that area and do other things.

Basically, try to center the plot in a small zone (a few city states) while not stopping people from doing other things in other places?

Not one or two big cities. I think three is a minimum, because a faction attacking another while fearing the backstab of the third country is more awesome than simply two factions hitting on each other until one wins.

Not even going to begin to tell you how wrong you are.

Multiple (ie more then two) fighting over 2 (or three, or four i"m just saying let's keep it low so each can grow) cities.  Like at least 6 families, there mercenaries *ie no standing armies really, maybe guards*, the people who are just there *the hatcuri*


Stuff like that.  Your family includes bankers and like doctors or something mostly, educated types.  They have a guard which they use to patrol the city keeping it crime free *except for their crimes of course, and only for those who support them for position in office*

The thing is, by confining us we're making for a very different game. YaK was pretty much always about the world at large, and the major players in it.

Now, having it set up so that we try to focus all of our energy in the city states is fine. But we should be allowed to do things outside of the city-states as well. Maybe disallow making characters outside of the storm coast, unless there are extenuating circumstances or something.

So, your plan is to make a sequel to YaK while knocking out most of YaK's elements (getting lands, making armies, Kingdoms always trying to backstab each other, huge conflicts, open world) and change it into a one city buisness where families of nobles try to get the power over the city? I'm against that idea.

Also, starting an argument by "You are wrong and I am not" is not going to make me open minded when I'm talking to someone.

Well, private armies wouldn't be out of the question, they'd just be professional. And that's assuming if we're not in the middle ages...

And I'm with shootandrun on that. I liked the politics between nations aspect.

This game was never about politics, you can tell yourself that all you want, but all you guys ever did was battle and kill.

I NEVER SAID ONE CITY, ALL OF THAT IS STILL IN THE FUCKING GAME, JUST REPLACE KINGDOM WITH HUGE CITIES.  THERE'S STILL LAND, ARMIES, AND IF WE EVER GET BORED WE CAN ALWAYS ADD ANOTHER CITY STATE, WE COULD HAVE 15 CITY STATES FOR ALL IT MATTERS.  A CITY STATE IS A FUCKING KINGDOM, in a way.

The point of in fighting is so we actually fucking role play, instead of just attacking what is essentially "computer" run places as a big team.
