I would think fae would be the go to 'magical' race. Weather Makers, Weather Readers, the occasional water slinger(kinda like in the last airbender)

either way, just ideas. You mentioned wanting suggestions, so I'm giving them as I formulate a character from what's in the opening posts.

I did however wondering about the costs of some things. Is each skill and tradeskill only 1pt per general skill? Not sure how to deal with that exactly.

No prob, appreciate it in fact. yes all skills are one pt per general skill. and yes you can make your sheets

I would suggest....Jellyfishmen-for an NPC race.

Quote
The Jellyfishmen-for lack of a better term-are vaugely amoeboid Humanoid beings that live in warmer, calmer waters. They look roughly like a man of about four or five feet, but their body is composed of a sort of gelatinous material that is both highly resistant to damage and proof against most forms of magic-they don't bleed, they don't get tired, and they never retreat if threatened. It's been shown that they can form their body to whatever shape really suits them, but Humanoid is their default when meeting other races-not that it helps much, since they have heads but no faces, for example.

Their main defense is predictably an array of deadly venom tipped tentacles, which are possessed of an unnatural strength, though they do wield spears with proficency. The poison is in fact, not lethal-it merely paralyzes for up to a day. Of course, most of their intended victims are drowned or eaten long before then.

JellyfishMen do not build homes, or construct settlements. They typically live in nomadic groups of about fifty, going wherever the tide takes them. As a race, they are fairly benevolent, but they are also amoral-they freely trade undersea goods to overworlders-most of which they make themselves, in strange and inventive ways-but a man who falls overboard during a trade meeting would be stung, seized and devoured without a second qualm.

Most Pirates tend to avoid them due to the obvious danger, but the strange goods they carry are usually worth alot of money, and their poison, when properly extracted, makes a valuable resource to many less then reputable sorts.

That reminds me, seems like we are missing an angel or bird/bat/flying type race.

Still working over a character, should have one soon.
