I found out you can get towers off you by doing the same thing you'd do to deny a creep, even if its full health the tower will switch targets to that creep, the more you know.

Ugh. I've been wanting to get into DotA, but I come from League of Legends and I've always been used to playing with the camera locked on my character, only moving it around to check on other lanes. I know that's not really what most players do, but I often find I kinda lose my character during team fights and such if I don't.

Unfortunately DotA doesn't seem to have this feature. Is there any solution despite just getting used to it?

Here ya go:
Quote
open auteexec.cfg and type this
alias +single_follow "+dota_camera_follow; -dota_camera_follow; +dota_camera_follow"
alias -single_follow "-dota_camera_follow"
bind Space +single_follow

but don't forget to first unbind your space button in settings ingame before writing this :)

Awesome. It's kinda weird I feel it's necessary, though, I've played a fair amount of RTS games, I should be used to moving the camera around.

Be prepared for it to not work. Dota 2 is still quite buggy.

I'd suggest you to try and use the middle mouse button to move the camera. It's marvelous.

Also, tapping 1 twice (If you still have it binded to control groups) gets the camera over your character.

Ah, I've been trying to move my camera like that, but it just feels really slow. In streams and such everyone seems to be able to do it really smoothly by just touching the edge of the screen, that feels really clunky to me though.

You can change both the speed and the acceleration in the settings menu.

?

As far as I know it works all the time, but there are caveats as tower aggro is very particular in Dota 2.

Things like it prefers to target things that are attacking it. Or how it chooses random targets when there are too many tied targets. Etc.

Here's a list: http://dota-2.co/topic/2060-dota-2-tower-tower-aggro-stats-and-how-it-works/

You should also get use to not having lock on even in LoL it a good idea it since it messes up you map awareness and that really important in these kind of games.

Ohh it seem dotabuff was going to make you pay money to see other people mmr/elo/whatever so that the other reason valve drop the hammer.

It was always the plan all along.

Dotabuff are part of the same company that makes the equivalents for LoL and HoN and they always wanted to make you pay for stats. Elo Entertainment LLC.

I was thinking... Can rubick steal the range swap from troll? Because that, with morph, would make carry rubick viable. And god help us if he can get a basher with the axes.

He can steal it. Not really sure what happens but I assume he gets everything Troll would normally get except the range which they just fixed.

Since Troll Warlord's Berserker Rage is a toggle, I don't believe it would stay on after he spell steals another spell, but the mechanics in Dota 2 are so riddled with exceptions that I could be definitely be wrong. You know, I just got an image of Rubick throwing his staff when Berserker Rage was toggled to range and it makes me giggle at how awesome that would be.
