Oblivious to Iddum's fall, go through forest to the hill. Check surroundings for any possible footsteps and wagon trails.

tracking check: d12=8, d12=1
You scan the ground with the magical power of your eyes beard. There are fresh dwarven-size footstep leading south to the hills and some older and much bigger tracks leading... somewhere else...

The tracks suggest that somebody dug a hole here.

Rocky music climbing practice montage. Clearly I need to get better at this.

climbing check: d12+3=11, d12=9
Grinding your climbing skill you swiftly reach the top of the cliff. Zan is standing at a hill south of you.

>_

continue further into the cave to look for a wood felling axe.

You do not find an axe, instead you find a channel that blocks your path. Two levers are placed next to it.

You tell strange jokes to all the locals you can see.
comedy check: d12-2=7, d12=2
"You zombies are nice fellows, but I prefer talking to rocks. They are far more chalkative!"
Lost in thought the zombie drops his meal.

say goodbye to my new acquaintance and return from the direction i came from, then head down the hole decorated with a lifesize figurine of a dwarven skull in dwarven bone. take said figurine with me, it doesn't seem to be claimed.

Scan surroundings of the hill to check if there's more than one trail of the dwarven-sized footsteps.

I BUMP with the FURY of a MONGOOSE!
Hack this site for proper vengeance.

say goodbye to my new acquaintance and return from the direction i came from, then head down the hole decorated with a lifesize figurine of a dwarven skull in dwarven bone. take said figurine with me, it doesn't seem to be claimed.

You run back to the cave's entrance and claim the skull...

"Braaaaaaaanes!"
Your new acquaintance seems to follow you. And he brought a friend.

>_

Scan surroundings of the hill to check if there's more than one trail of the dwarven-sized footsteps.

tracking check: d12=7, d12=7
Your magical eyes won't work this time, but you can guess you left another trail.
You hear rushing water and somebody shouting "brains" from the hole.

>_

Begin looking for clues!

tracking check: d12=7, d12=3
Kneeling down on the grass you find some tracks: Two medium sized creaures appear to have walked towards the hills, a bigger one to the east. You can hear a goose quacking in the distance.

>_

Look for notes describing the levers, then pull both levers.

You cannot find any advice on what those levers are supposed to do, so you just pull them both. You would have done that anyways...
Now water is rapidly flowing through the channel. You still live.
