Events:Horatio began to surrender. But first, in a low tone, he began to shout...
"Will you..."For some reason,
Herros was still shooting. Stonewall proceeded to let go of one gun, fling his arm outward, revealing a reflective panel, and block Herros' beam, reflecting the stream of hot particles back at Herros' own face. (-20hp)
"STOP SHOOTING!"Horatio dropped his other weapon and huddled over to Amatin and the three Ross soldiers that came along, dragging his heavy armor along.
Struggling to do so, he tore his helmet off, threw it at the ground, revealing his cleanly shaven bald head.
"What IS IT that you want? You come here, frag my men, trash my drones, and--""Don't misunderstand my motives, Mr. Stonewall. We're not here to wipe out the fleet, nor to kill anyone important. Our mission is to apprehend your Admiral and escort him into custody, and I would prefer to do it without fear that some stray bullet from your troops gets him brained, which is why I'm trying to talk before I shoot. And right now I see no peaceful way to resolve the situation but with your willing cooperation.
In other words, you choose: either you tell the crew to surrender or we start pumping reactor fuel into the ship's ventilation.""Reactor fuel? Is that what you're going to do? Oh, that AI you hacked in. You're not getting to the admiral though. Not even through me. There are certain limitations as to what I'm allowed to order, and letting ARMED PERSONNEL guilty of KILLING MY MEN into the bridge is not under my jurisdiction!""So what you're saying is that you can't just take you hostage?""Well... I still don't get it. How did you manage to bring an EMP device on board. I myself haven't heard of any handheld device that can fire an EMP-capable projectile, and there was definitely no grenade. I would have heard it.""Some things are better left unsaid.""Fine, be that way. I'm not going to be much of a threat in my disabled armor, so here's a deal: I'll order my men not to shoot until we have the admiral's word. You take the admiral and knock him out, put him in an HEV suit, and do some of your techno-mastery-kinesis-whatever to walk him out of here. Don't worry too much about me, I've talked myself out of twelve court marshals."[5: Trait gained! Interrogator]

Meanwhile, some of the team has been up to some antics in efforts to improve their power.
Jaffar attempted to create a forcefield to block off potential reinforcements from the elevator.
Spell Creation: Energy Field
Success: [2] [2]
Result: We'll see
Just as Jaffar finished up the spell in his mind, the left elevator door to the north began opening. Jaffar saw a single Ross security officer attempt to exit the elevator. Thinking quickly, he projected his energy field.
The officer walked forward, into the field. It stopped him. Curiously, he tapped the field. Jaffar felt a knocking sensation in his entire body--probably just his body reacting to the new use of wizardly power.
However, the Ross then pulled his arm back and punched the energy field with his bare fist. Jaffar flew two feet in the direction of the punch, and the energy field dissipated.
"Owww...." Moaned Jaffar.
The officer "Mr. Burns"
(experimenting with a slightly more engaging writing style), (according to his nametag) saw everyone's weapons, especially those slung to Caplus' back. He subsequently dropped his officer's pistol and raised both arms.
Next,
Kayle attempted to siphon life out of the amalgam of soldiers on the lower decks. He peeked over the handrail and picked a select few to attempt her abilities on. The flashing lights made it rather painful to
anyone to look straight up, so she was mostly safe.
[5] Focusing on all of them at once, she managed to drain 100hp out of all of them at once, realizing that in fact, her powers were rather broad in terms of control. She realized that all this time in the academy, she focused on one test subject at a time. Even that one time when the professor asked her to try it on multiple people, she believed it would be too difficult.
This led her to wonder... that perhaps manipulating life wasn't something as linear as "one person has x hp, draining this subtracts it, blarg." No, in fact, it occurred that it was different. The many Ross below had something uniting them together--nationalism perhaps. Maybe this interlinked their life forces together somewhat, multiplying the sheer potency of an individual's soul and life?
Magic was a field neglected by mainstream science. It was a very real force, yet nobody recognized it... possibly because most individuals aren't born with any sort of fell for it at all. It was like an extra dimension, one that had yet to be brought under the viewing lens of a keen observer.

Zakroff rushed up the stairs, putting his already-overworked legs at a huge strain. He finally reached the top, after ~70 stairs climbed, he encountered a trio of Ross soldiers pushing... a combat drone? The drone was parked in the way, neatly sideways, obstructing the stairway. Checking to make sure nobody else noticed, Zakroff grabbed the heads of two soldiers and smacked them together, using his own to butt the third soldier in the back of the head, knocking out all three silently.
[5+1=6: Too easy! No experience gained.]
Afterward, he grabbed one of the drone's barrels and lifted himself atop the drone. He jumped down only to be called out by a tall Aroth male.
"What the... who... are you?"He asked, half-politely. One one hand, his tone was less than angered. On the other hand, the man had a rocket launcher in his right hand,
and was pointing it at him.>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<
Uh, not sure where to go with this exactly. adwarf and HmH can do their thing while the rest of you do... what exactly? Yeah. Sadly I think the next two rolls are going to be mostly plot. After that it's
metroid style-- did I say what? Anyway hold on, I'll get us out of here without interrupting vital plot threads
