(I do pay attention, but I don't know what's going on either D. ^^^; I'm pretty sure we're not being told everything yet.)

Kayle moved her hand down to Jaffar's and gripped it, also continuing to watch and observe/record the situation for the rest of the team.

Oh whoops, I didn't mean to imply that people forgot about it completely, just that they don't check it every day (why should they be expected to?).

Caplus and Aduin headed down the path by the side of the flowing water. Aduin continued to detect fungus traces on his fungometer.
They made it to a point where the path was blocked by a wall with a security door, and the water passed through a grate.
Caplus walked over to the door and twisted the knob, but it didn't move.
"It's locked..."
Aduin said nothing, and simply held up the keys, shaking them to draw Caplus' attention, then unlocked the door.
Suddenly, the door opened right away. Caplus caught it and stopped it from opening further, but whatever pushed it managed to squeeze its way through. Caplus saw nothing more than a mass of tentacles in the darkness. Aduin saw a humanoid figure on the floor, and it held a gun.

You can, since you see if far more clearly than Caplus, since it's dark and his suit's lights are chest-mounted like the marine's from Starcraft.

[5] Caplus jumped in the direction opposite of the door [3] narrowly missing Aduin and landing on his back.

His suit's lights illuminated the ceiling, which bounced light back down so that he could see.

The humanoid thing got up. It appeared to be some kind of former soldier covered in water... but with armor damaged in some places and all gaps containing teal-colored growths that resembled tentacles with gill-like structures at the base. It wielded a bulky assault rifle, which it began to lift with one hand to point toward Caplus.

[6] The thing is still part-way through the door, but never mind that.
Aduin slammed the door with all of his might, cleanly severing the abomination's legs from the knees down. Purple fluid started seeping from its wounds. Aduin kept his keys at hand so he could lock it once the thing was disarmed.

[6] It let out a vaguely human, ear-piercing screech, which [1] gave Aduin tinnitus and [5] Caplus' shield blocked.

Caplus is now a Novice Shield User.

OOC: To what? tinnitus is just hearing sound in the hear. In this case it's due to the screech.

The humanoid is still on your side of the door. Basically, he jumped out the door. Caplus jumped backwards and the thing jumped through the door and onto the floor.  Then you slammed the door shut, severing it's legs, but it's still on your side...

What? I thought you were referring to that disease(?) when you get wounded by rusted metal. Don't ask me how I came to that conclusion.

That's tetanus, hehe.

This one just decreases magic damage by 20%... irrelevant for you but it would hurt HEN a bit.
