Now that I am Ms. Overlord Chief Medical Dwarf, I demand a decent office, a decent room, a gabbro statue depicting myself menacing with spikes of soap, a hospital with a nice well, a stainless steel table, a full set of precision tools, a new chainsaw, a gaggle of nurses, a secretary,  and a partridge in a pear tree!

Oh, and a cat. I like them for their aloofness.

Our civ is alive and well, as it seems. I was confused by the timing and size of the migrant waves, which seemed odd to me. I've looked us up in legend mode, seems like there's still some of us left. We also just got the 3rd wave, lotses of dorfs, let's see which ones survive the giant badger onslaught! Update will be posted when they're here.

Ok, the friends list seems to be quite extensive, so I've done it for the claimed dorfs only.
Ahra is friends with Wolocke, Drognan, Flandre, Shade, Sakzul & Urdim, and heavily in wuvz with Kumil. Awww... our miner couple. 
Flandre is friends with Wolocke, Drognan, Shade, Ahra, Kumil, Sakzul, Momuz, Solon and Litast. And she also has a grudge against Ablel...

more like for mayor.
i suggest to start looking which of the dwarves have the "easiest" preferences in materials.
in that way when baron time comes, one grabs the easiest one.

it's the chainsaw which makes you scary...you know? try changeing it with a magical girl wand. usually it works.

Shakespear Fortress Chronicles
23rd Slate, 52
Expedition Leader Ablel Zuntirdishmab.

Ahra descended carefully down the stairs in our new heavy industry chamber. In his eyes I saw no fear, only determination. We heard a loud *clank*, then a strange bubbling and Ahra's cries of relief as he ran up the stairs and quickly sealed them with the floor hatch.

Smoke rose from the workshops. The fortress of Shakespear now had fully operational magma smelters and forges.

I am relieved to see our heavy industry ready to supply us with weapons and tools, and also the metal crafts that will make this fortress rich. Ores we have enough, and right now we are melting every piece of ore we found into bars. Soon we shall have a militia armed with the finest steel and iron equipment.

A large wave of migrants has just arrived. It seems that the badgers are afraid of so many people. I have seen no losses so far. 

Shade has completed the fortress well. We are now getting fresh water from the river. Seems that even losing the ability to stand without a crutch can't stop him.

I will soon put some of our 36 dwarves into a squad to be armed with the products of our forges. Let the badgers feel the unrelenting power of dwarven steel.

So, things don't look too bad anymore. We still don't have a good doctor, so... I let the creepy girl with the chainsaw do the dirty work...
