Because of all the races, they are the most useless. Dwarves are dwarves, humans bring food, drink, and surface seeds, goblins bring death, iron, and challenge, kobolds are too rare to hate, but elves only bring useless wooden items and the occasional exotic animal.

They say that variety is the spice of life. Then again, blades and whips seem to be more effective than hammers on the undead. Pretty much just don't use a mace and you'll be a-ok.
