((You aren't making strict gun powder as we know it. The substance itself is fairly volatile, however, so the simple act of making it brings with it a lot of risks. One of which is fiery explosions.))

Terenos returns for what remains of his regiment. (3) Using the sword he had stolen from one of the guards, he is able to catch another of the guard's unaware. Needless to say, this causes a bit of a distraction as his buddy raises the alarm.  (5) Your allies use this distraction to the best of their ability, and the sound of fighting can be heard from the other side of the bandit camp. (4) In order to raise the chaos, you kill a few more guards and stragglers before knocking one of the tents into an open camp fire. (5) At this point, your men have escaped, though not without taking even more casualties. You disappear into the hills together.
At most three soldiers from your original regiment still live. Morale is understandably very low.

((Both. This is his second escape attempt, he's been steadily losing soldiers each time. His regiment was also just annihilated in a battle. Even with a 5 he isn't getting out of there without some heavy losses))
