A man comes out from the shadows. "My apologies, my lord, but you don't appear to have any...shall we say....intelligence gatherers. Myself and my colleagues would be happy to fulfill this position, should you want it."

We can accept the tracking devices from the church, they'll be helpful in keeping the renegade necromancers down.

And Ochita, tell the church if they want the investigations they'll have to be specific.

Now then m'lord, I have a gift for you, a new bodyguard. Not just any old one but rather THE BLACK KNIGHT! He'll make sure you won't be harmed while he still lives.

The King notices the shadowy man.
"Who are you, and what exactly is nature of your 'colleagues'? Also, someone fix the lighting in here. Don't want too many people hiding the shadows, now do we...

A messenger approaches the king

"What? He's demanding WHAT?"

'100 tons of raw meat, mi'lord.

'Does he know how expensive that is? I could buy additional soldiers cheaper!'

'Just the messenger, mi'lord.

'This had better work-I won't be able to feast for a week... [grumble grumble] '

the meat is placed upon the traps, in such a way that only the weight of a dragon could make the traps fall, already considering obviously the weight of the meat, to avoid unpleasant accidents.
It doesn't matter if the meat is fresh or not, their animals, dragons, even rotting carcasses or corpse would do as long as their made of meat.
maybe they'd even get sick if some were so unlucky to survive the spiked trap.
the archers are camouflaged nearby the pits, to be ready to fire upon the dragons were they to sniff out the trap and avoid it.
The lancers are camouflaged and nearby the archers, to protect them in case of a dragon charge.
The horsemens are going back to the castle, they are useless and idiotical fools who can't even outrun a dragon on a horse.
And then Shade begins also praying for the help of god.
if anything, he'll die and go to heaven.

"fine." i comment...
then i take a mental note, the ogre popes will fall, one day.
But first comes the dragons. They will be annihilated.
They even made whelps, for those, the lancers should suffice.
Or shade and the few swordsmans he has with him.
One way or another, we will not stay idle!

"My lordship, I am Dsarker, a higher level associate of what you might call a thieves guild. We train almost daily to...slip past watchmen, distract guard dogs, wait patiently while the men of the castle go to sleep, and then slip into your enemy's office, pick the locks, and make copies of all the important documents. We are, in short, the sort of men highly prized and highly feared."

Head Advisor Talarion smiles, his eyes widening slightly in shock. "Many thanks my lord... As I have heard, most of my fellows have been doing their job... So I shall study. I have not dabbled in magicka before, but I would like to personally be able to act as your head magician as an alternate appointment, if you would allow it. I will of course prioritize my duties of Head Advisor... But i would like to confirm the power of magic myself. May I request your permission, my lord?"

After some time going up and down the coast, Shootandrun brought together the "fleet". He had nearly forty sloops, ten Corvettes and six Balener vessels. He left the Buza vessels and the Barque behind, for they were too slow, and started recruiting men in the villages. He took with him a few hundred villagers, and armed them with what he could find: harpoons, spears, daggers, axes for some of them, a lot of bows... He also took a part of the guards in the villages and they formed his only well armed and trained force. He loaded them in the ships, and they went to the territories of the ice gnolls. No light was in the ships, and they paddled in silence. With the fog over the sea, they were nearly invisble.

So, I'm guessing that some people want some rules, at least regarding economic, political and military matters.  The adviser and favor thing is perfect, I like it, but here are the economic rules, if you want them:

---------------------------------------------------
Upkeep

10 gold upkeep=1 foot soldier

Thus, 500, times ten equals 5000 upkeep per turn.

5 gold upkeep=1 archer unit

Thus, 100 archers=500 upkeep per turn

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Income Producing buildings:

Castle=5,000 gold per turn

Inn=100 gold per turn

Port=1000 gold per turn

Town ( technically not building, but who cares )=500

----------------------------------------------------------------

Total income=6,600 gold per turn

Total expenses=5,500 gold per turn

Total profit=1,100 per turn

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Current money in treasury=10,000

As you can see, Lord Dwarmin has 500 foot units ( aka infantry ) and 100 archers.  He can buy more if he wants, but it's good not get too much in debt.  Lord Dwarmin, since you created the navy, is it ok if you decide their upkeep?  It's ok if the expenses are larger than the income, you just have to find a way to increase your income per turn before you got bankrupt.

I will either simplify the rules or make them more complex on what you guys want.  Just please don't ask me to completely remodel the system.

Wouldn't inns be part of a town? And it seems silly to me that just five inns will produce as much money as an actual town. Maybe change Inn to Village or something?

Nah, where do you think most of the townspeople spend their money? At the inn. So you can get great tax from that.

Maybe a better way would be to have a town produce X amount of income. You need businesses to tax to get that money back.

But the town already produces 500 gold per turn.

Kinsen's Cartographer Logg: Day 79
Those pesky ice kobolds had followed for far too long, but had it not been for Asgard yet again, I am sure we would have perished.

Kinsen's Cartographer Logg: Day 79 cont.
A blizzard is about to brew. I wanted to stay in our small cave, but StabbyMcStabStab suddenly ran out screaming something about monsters. Asgard soon followed, probably to stop him from going further. I don't want to be here alone, in the dark so I soon ran after them. I should not have done that.

[Anxious]
Is it just me or are we surrounded by hundreds of Man Eating Polar Trolls? I thought they should be further north! Asgard, StabbyMcStabStab! Is there anything we can do in this situation? - Wait look! That troll over the hills seem different somehow than the others. Could that mean something?
