OOC: Just realized that Dsarker was not an royal advisor when he took the throne. Technically, he just staged a bloodless coup.

The Royal Scribe of the former Lord Heath arrives and summarizes the current events of the province.

"Ahem...

A wager between the Thief Guild and Advisor Talarion was in play-one to steal a valuable item, and one to preserve it. The Thief guild robbers were recently captured after setting fire to Head Advisors Ochitas estate, forfeiting the competition. Since Advisor Ochita was the victor, he was promised by the then Lord that he could obtain the much coveted position of Head Of Magicians.

There was also a wager between Advisor Ochita and Adventurer Guild Leader Kadazar, to bring forth their best fighter and duel for the Lords favor. The duel has not yet started.

The status of such wagers, and if they are honored, are now up the new Lord to determine.

Advisor Ochita himself is soon to return from a soujourn with the Wizard Blastomro. We've received word he passed the tests, and has learned valuable magic knowledge. The Spy Hikari the Lord sent to obtain the Wizards backtaxes failed, is being sent along with him, in his rat cage.

Oh yes, a horde of Ice monsters is descending our land, and we have appealed the capital for help.

On the upside, we're waiting for the Church to hear our plea in papal court on the subject of Church-approved zombies.

Locatd below is the personal note of the lord, as in relating to his favor and appointments, none of which are set anymore with the new Lord in charge.

As for the state, there is some grumbling about the bandits in the hills, who have begun to raid again, damaging our economy.

"Well, my lord, I have almost finished my training, and I hope to be back for the kingdom. As for the duel which I have heard of, send the paladin that I ordered for it. He shall do finely for the combat. Also, I belive that giving the 2000 gold for the church is okay, as long as they promise not to extort any more from us. Oh, and the assassain, should I bring him back? I don't think that he likes being a rat.."

[Kadzar]

A low ranking member of the Adventurers Guild is sent to the lord's throne room with a message.

"To the Lord of Windhearth,
 I have chosen a champion for the Adventurers Guild's duel with Ochita's band. His name is Javier; he is a mage specializing in illusion magic. Once Ochita has chosen his own champion, we would like to schedule a duel as soon as possible.

"Very well. The duel will take place, with no death! We can't afford the loss of any of our champions. Talarion, have one of our mages dispatch a reply to Ochita. We want the assassin back. In human form, no less."

He shook the papera around a bit.

"Wait, is this real? Ochita the mage sends a swordsman, whereas the adventurer guild sends a mage?" A guffaw is let loose as he finishes talking.


"Very well. Give the Ogre-Pope the gold he has asked for. If he does ask any more, we'll have to deny him."
