In global somebody reported that only the starting island's mine nodes are fixed. Everywhere else is completely random, so we should feel free to settle in places other than the northern island.

Well if I prospect the northern island's mines and find iron, and if I find enough trees around, I think that's enough reason to settle there.
:D heh.

I still gotta check what my crafter can do with architecture now, but everyone keep the money coming so I can make moar building deeds for us!

As seen on the main post, I managed to craft a Bastion deed, the building which gives us the ability to claim land in name of the faction.
This is what materials the building require:
[Gathering skill, Crafting skill]

MATERIALS LEFT APROX.:
1400 Wooden Planks [Lumberjacking, Carpentry]
7450 Stone Bricks [Mining Stone, Masonry]
0 Nails [Mining Ore, Toolsmithing]
15 Support Beams [Lumberjacking, Carpentry (not 100% sure)]
75 Foundations [Mining Stone, Masonry (not 100% sure)]
750 Mortar [Mining Clay, Pottery]


Gathering stone is much quicker and easier than gathering ore, since the nodes got a LOT of stone and it mines more quickly.
If you can Gather but not Craft something, don't waste resources attempting to do it. Hold the resources for a crafter.

You can give the resources to Glowcat, and he'll transfer to my crafter later on.
I'll update this post everytime a nice donation is made.

Also, I'm trying to make my boat (still need 200 wood) and get my miner to find some iron.
This will speed up our gathering with better tools.

I really want to play this game but it lags like hell for me on even the lowest graphical settings. Is there any way to eliminate the lag?

After almost a week, all I can say is... I'm on a boat, mf*!



Its pretty easy once you got a deed and the resources.
Right click the deed, left click a place in water.
Right click the boat, check Progress tab, click the Star beside the material names.
Once everything is "Full", the boat will autobuild.

From what members said, it takes 12 hours to the boat to build itself.

We're one step closer to better gear and to a settlement.  :D

Of course, I forgot to say it, but thanks a lot for all the help you guys gave with so many planks.
I'll do my best to find that freaking hidden iron.

About our supplies, I've got about 100 copper and more than that in bronze, so I can churn out plenty of nails, and bronze weapons.

I've got some wood as well, which I can turn into planks or lumber. I can't make support beams, so either it requires a high Carpentry, or uses a different skill.

Apparently all nodes went random. There are Tin instead of copper on Starter mines now, and on North Vynn mines I only found copper, quartz and torquoises. So did Venoth, but I think he'll do more prospecting/searching around here.

I'll leave my miner there and wait for the nodes to come back to normal. There are crates in one of the caves that got Iron Ore inside (can't steal), so I know there are Iron nodes here.

Check game's recommended specs. Check your graphics configuration at the options, on the game menu.
If it doesnt help, check Dawntide.net Technical Support forums.

How viable is preservation/necromancy/spellcraft/polearm/skinning? And then getting alteration afterwards (not sure what to do for number 7, maybe primalism when it comes out).

See, I'm thinking having max necromancy and then buffing the minions to "lol wtf" levels of awesomeness. Would that work?

Necromancers can summon any number of minions, according to their mana


However

With one, mana is slow to regen. With two, it doesn't regen. With three, it starts to drain. So you can't have more than one if you're planning to buff them.
