Looks like 3 2 1 guys, Sheb, Burnt Pies, and breadbocks.

Zorgn, how will you handle time? What if one person doesn't reply or send you orders for a while? Does the game go on without him?

Generally, yes. It's partly why I ask to know what everyone's plans for the future are, as well as diplomacy both open and secret, so I can somewhat imitate them. I'll give minimum 24 hours response time on most things, but after that, it's very possible I'll have played ahead.

Also, what conventional forces and weapons do we have on Earth?

Guys with assault rifles, tanks, planes, everything we have now, but somewhat more advanced. To be more specific, 40 missile complexes each armed with 10 ICBMs, 10 low tech armor battalions, and 20 low tech infantry battalions. More than enough troops and boom to get into trouble.

Quote
Also, do we start with a shipyard?

Nope. Game starts the day TN theory is released to the world, nobody's had time to build anything up they didn't have before. There will be a lot of reworking current industry, and building new. Also, I have significantly upped the minerals on Earth, to accommodate the massively increased industrial base it needs to support. I've not touched the other bodies in the solar system, though may if I see a pressing need.

Indeed, and the United League of Minor Nations will be subsidizing research and construction of such a defense network. How exactly, I have no idea, but each of you has more nukes than I am comfortable with.

I launch all nukes at the slow people.

The Greater Chinese Empire would be willing to pool together scientific resources for developing meson technology.

Have us loan out science labs to whoever has the most organized/best scientist leader, then give the tech to everyone who participated. Perhaps have a few idle due to the inefficiency of large, multinational collaborative efforts.

How long does the first turn go for?

Until something interesting pops up. There are no turns as such, since something requiring player input could happen at any time. To make the turns longer, and thus faster, doing things like queuing up the next few research projects, construction projects, etc, will help.

EDIT: Eight civs detecting and giving a unique ID to 280 ships at the same time is a massive slowdown. Not trying that ever again.

So we won't be starting with an orbital shipyard in place? Alright, I know where my first investment is going!

I guess we'll just start with conventionnal inudstry, research labs and ground forces?

Look at it this way; since everyone starts out with nothing, you may get to be the one who brings a nuke to a knife fight.

Plus, I figure to start out at least several of us will work together in a research treaty and pool all the advances with each other.

Well at least the New British Empire would be willing to do that. The more we work together the faster we all get dreadnaughts :P

Also, it'll be in our interest to get a complete survey of Earth's mineral sources. I suggest we form a team out of the world's 5 top Survey specialists and let them map the mineral wealth of our planet.

This going to be very interesting to watch. Posting to keep track of the thread.

Also, I wonder how long till someone suddenly but inevitably betrays the others...

Well, at least until one of us get TN missiles. ICBMs are just crap.

Ok, I sent you all emails with a screenshot of the summary screen, and your scientists. I also told you your randomly chosen advantage. In most cases, this is double the normal BP, but in the case of research, I limited it to 320 RP, to keep it at the same amount of research points.

This is the current state of Earth's minerals for most of you. Miners are going to be getting more, of course.

Please send me things you want to research, as well as things you want to build, etc. The more projects you send me, the better.
