While Space Incorporated applauds the cooperative spirit of this scientific venture, unfortunately all Space Inc. research material is and will remain trade secrets and will not be shared with the public unless deemed appropriate by the CEO.

C'mon share your giant doom missile technology with us! :P

I'll focus on the reactor.

So you guys are going to make designs co-operatively?

Some of them are, I guess. Space Inc. sees no reason to cooperate this early. Its not like there is an emergency or something. Space Tech, the research and development division of Space Inc. is developing a number of proprietary technologies which we wouldn't mind manufacturing for others, however. We will announce new designs as they become commercially available.

Now if anyone would like to contract Space Inc. to develop a technological solution for a certain need, that is a different story. Pay us for the use of our scientific facilities and we would be happy to work for you.

For example, would anyone like us to develop a low-cost geological survey ship which could then be sold or licensed to other nations? If you subsidize some of the research costs, we would be happy to negotiate price reductions later on when selling the systems or fully constructed ships to you in return. Fund the research entirely and we can negotiate a number of free production model ships which will be delivered to you.

Everything is open to negotiation. Contact me via PM.

Actually, I con understand Space Inc. They assume that they'll benefit from meson protection without contributing to it. After all we won't let missiles fall on their land for fear of radiation.

Thus I propose the following resolution to members of the MDI (Missile Defense Initiative). If any non-member nation is targeted by missiles, we will stop those missiles. However, as to remain neutral in any conflict, we will deal the damage the missiles should have dealt using our Mesons.

Of course, Space Inc. could join the MDI without sharing tech, for exemple by building the Meson PDCs that will be under international control, or setting up a laser anti-missile base on the Moon.

Your proposal is quite ridiculous. "If you don't pay us we'll shoot your shit up but we'll still stop the missiles"?

If that is your position, Space Inc. will relocate off of Earth as soon as is feasible rather than be held hostage by idiots.

Hahaha no. You are not being held hostage. You are either going to help, are you won't be protected by our system. It's that simple.

Yes, since we cannot allow missiles to turn Earth into a radioactive wasteland, we're going to stop missiles attacking you. But we don't want to protect you, so we'll deal 1 point of damage using our mesons for every point of damage we saved you from. You don't loose anything.

And if you don't want to join in, even without sharing techs, you can always set up your own missile defense, or manage not to get shot at.

Also, I'll start researching the Meson Focusing technology.

I'd like to have a roster of all the MDI members.
-The Culture (Sheb):Meson Focusing Technology
-The Star Federation (Breadbocks):Active Sensors or Beam Fire Control
-The Greater Chinese Empire (Nirur Torir):Pressurized Water Reactor
-The IntaStella Lawmakers (Burnt Pies):Capacitor Recharge Rate
-The New British Empire (Knave):10 cm Meson

Did I forget anyone?

Space Inc. would be happy to contribute construction capacity to the project if that is more feasible. Space Inc. has extensive construction facilities set up and would dedicate a portion of our overall capacity to the project's PDC construction. Once the designs for a missile defense PDC are finalized and sufficient resources transferred into the project funds, we will be happy to shoulder the construction and associated manpower costs. We cannot consider a scientific collaboration because our laboratories are currently busy developing proprietary technologies, as I said before.

We really do not take kindly to threats, and if any Space Inc. assets are fired upon by this defensive system you a developing or by any other weapon, we will of course retaliate with an appropriate level of force.

You were already given the offer, you know.

It's not a threat. We'll not attack you. Just, if someone attack you, we'll stop his missiles and deal the damage ourselves. That way, we don't change anything, except that you're not living in a radioactive wasteland afterward. If you stop the missiles yourselves, we won't do a thing.

And as I said, there is many way you can cooperate, not jsut sharing technology.

No matter how you justify it, if you fire on our assets that is an attack. Regardless, all of this discussion is premature. Talk to us once the designs for this missile defense PDC are finalized.

Well, the alternative is letting the missile falling down on your country. Which will end up doing as much damage, with a nuclear winter to top it all.

And well, if you do retaliate, who will you retaliate against? The UN, destroying the Meson Shield that protect us all? All 5 members of the MDI?

The alternative would be to bill me for the service of stopping the missiles, not act like an uncouth barbarian and gleefully shoot my stuff with your missile defenses.
