Well, if you break a Shadow Orb, then another before a meteor falls, the second Orb's meteor doesn't come.

Well, i've come to a crossroads. I have mid-level equipment, full iron armor, gold sword, etc. and Now I need demonite to go to the next level. That means getting my ass handed to me numerous times by the EoC.

Upgrade your armor, flatten a large area near your spawn, buy a crapload of grenades, make a crapload of healing potions, summon eater, mirrorport to spawn, start throwing grenades at it.

I'm not entirely ready to fight the Eye just yet, but I got the evil presence message just now, and I'm not done with these goblins. This should be fun.

EDIT: Oh god, killing the Eye with a harpoon is so fun. Goblin army defeated, iCTHULHU PHASE 2 GO.

Oh, and I got rocket boots and another harpoon too. The first one was the one I picked up halfway through from a thief's corpse and started killing shit with.

Just for the hell of it, I killed it with a spiky ball.

Fun fact: When smashing orbs, the messages you get come in order.
1: You feel a horrible chill go up your spine.
2: Screams echo around you.
3: The Eater of Worlds has awoken!
Then you get attacked by the EoW.

Also, if you don't have rocket boots, a lucky horseshoe or any of that you can flood the bottom of the chasm and jump down or build blocks to get your down, then you can use a Dynamite to destroy the ebonstone or purification power to make it into regular stone, or if you have a good pickaxe you can use that.

To make it, you need:

Vile Powder
Rotten Chunks

I'm not sure how much, but if I recall correctly, quite a bit. One night of slaying in the corruption may be enough, but the vile mushrooms may take time.

To make vile powder you need vile mushrooms.

And to make worm food, which summons the EoW, you need an altar.

15 chunks and 30 powder per Worm Food item. The powder builds up a lot faster than the chunks unless you're specifically staying in the Corruption to farm them. Every mushroom gives you 5, while you only intermittently get a single chunk out of the Eaters-of-Souls.

Why would you farm for worm teeth? Not only do you get unholy arrows faster by kicking iCthulhu's ass, they also are ammo for a weapon that is pretty much overshadowed by the time you CAN farm for teeth.

Peh, you want style, you fire off Jester arrows. +1 damage, +10000 difficulty to acquire, but those sparkles are so totally worth it. 


(I also feel obligated to mention that Unholy Arrows can hit 3 targets per shot, while what I'm assuming you're calling their superior, Meteor Shot, only hits 2. Of course, the Blaster fires ridiculously fast, but archery isn't totally useless if you can exploit that third hit properly.)

Also, Jester Arrows get infinite piercing, and one use only.

Also, in PvP, arrows can be lobbed over high barricades hastily set up by the person you are hunting. No other weapon can.
