Also, in PvP, arrows can be lobbed over high barricades hastily set up by the person you are hunting. No other weapon can.

If your quick with a boomerang, you can throw it up, it will fall, come back, and hit the guy on the return. same story for chain weapons. But if will be a very rare case when you get in more than one shot, and only then if you are lucky. Arrows are much more effective, but not the only weapon.

Have I mentioned there's no situation in which I wouldn't find a way to put my star cannon and insane amounts of ammo to use? Cause I don't spend hours harvesting those stars for nuthin.

Because they are pretty sweet with just a demon bow.

The demon bow deals 13 damage per shot. (21 with Unholy arrows.)

The Molten Fury deals 29 damage per shot. (37 with Unholy arrows.)


Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Still prefer my 'nix Blaster, but until I finally found a Handgun in the dungeon, my bow and I had a great time sniping people.

Does the 'nix have penetration on par though? (only just found handgun, haven't upgraded yet)

Nix + meteor shot does something like 40 damage, and penetrates once, for two hits.

Star Cannon just keeps going, at something like 75 damage per hit.

The penetration is from Meteor Shot. You can get two targets with one shot, and at the Blaster's rate of fire, you can deal a lot more damage to a crowd than with Unholy Arrows.

Plus the phoenix blaster can fire at a ridiculous speed, whereas the bow has a fairly slow speed. That said, I still frequently use a flamarang or muramasa, among other things. The sunfury can do a ton of damage, but lacks range and speed. The muramasa is insanely fast and lacks range. The flamarang is good on limited numbers of enemies, even high-level enemies such as hornets.

Then there's the harpoon, and spells, which are good for the lulz, mainly, although it's possible to completely wtfpwn monsters with the aqua staff or harpoon at point-blank range.

Tree, y u not grow?

Honestly I planted that tree game weeks ago, it was very first tree I planted in the castle.

But nooo, the goddamn sapling would budge. I keep the grass cut so it won't invade it's root tiles, but still no luck. All other trees I planted already grew up.

Are there dead saplings or something in Terraria?

From what I can gather, some saplings just never grow, and you need to dig them up and plant them again.
