Sorry everyone.

My dwarf fortress crashed before Autumn and I don't have any other saves. Since I'm going to be away for most of this week, I'm going to withdraw from this game.

Mid-year report of 'Urist' Rallikot, 1 Limestone 253

We discovered a major security flaw in the fortress: an up/down stair was situated directly above the underground sea.  melkor floored it off to prevent Daz (our resident giant bristleworm with wings of stretched skin) from flying in and slaughtering the fortress.


While Selenite's training has left him an excellent axedwarf, the lack of a sparring partner has left his defenses to rust.  Edosurist and ext0l worked together to construct a lever-operated mechanical training room.


The improvements made during Selenite's reign are taking effect.  All dwarfs are at ecstatic and the forges are producing a steady trickle of lead and silver.

The season began with a visit from yet another forgotten beast.  Fortunately the local antmen didn't appreciate his presence and killed him almost immediately after his arrival.


We received two goblin ambushes.  The first consisted of two squads, both of which fled after Selenite killed their leader.  The second consisted of pikemen who sneaked in by disguising themselves as gazelle.


They were slightly more tenacious, and managed to wound Selenite before he slaughtered them.

The wound has already healed and Selenite has returned to training.

My computer just had its registry messed up or something (AGAIN!!! This happened last time I was about to play in a succession game), so now absolutely no EXE files esecute, including our lovely DF. SKIP ME! But if you can still dorf me, that'd be fine.

The fort was dead for about two weeks, so I'm counting your turn as beginning on 7 June.

Pick four dwarves, name them Roctiv, noodle0117, Thatdude, and Orthoclase.  What you do with the rest is up to you.  We have two starvation chambers that could accommodate nine dwarves each if you built additional levers (currently they accommodate four and six), but there are many ways to deal with the situation.

Granite 1
uh... first day on the job, and I'm already confused. The control room with the levers has 10 levers with only 2 labeled (the main gate's doors), not to mention another room with an additional three to the bottom right of the control room. Also, down in the mountain near the magma sea and cave, there is a huge 9-by-22 room with no floors except for the surrounding edges and a strip down the middle which houses a row of built gear assemblies that lead to nowhere... help, please! If that still is not clear enough, beneath the room are two strips of side-by-side 3-by-20 rooms.

Told Microline to start digging out the site of our future Gladiator Arena. When I took control of this place, he was sleeping. Currently, he's on break.

Slate 2
He's still on break, and now he's organized a party. DISBAND IT! Why is it always the worthless nobles that start parties, disrupting their own stupid orders... Oh... uh... hi Microline! Oh, did I write that, hehe. I, uh, was going to say worthless... gazelles, you know, the 7 tame gazelles standing at the entrance. There's just enough, so I was going to give each dorf a gazelle… Oh, it’s true! (if I had enough time to oversee this operation)

Sasmicth has come! A gigantic, three-eyed tarantula! It's said to have a long, swinging trunk and a bloated body with a wrinkled exoskeleton! Sasmicth has a poisonous bite!
We'll let it stay down in the caverns with the other beast and that carcass which is somewhere down there. HAH! THE ANTMEN KILLED HIM ALREADY!!!

hmph. now that I see how much I actually played, it's making me somewhat depressed...
