I can't imagine why you would ever take a bear in the first place. Little girls/sisters are better simply because you can give them weapons and armor you can use.

I never took a bear so far, so i imagined that it was a strong beast or something like that.
And in this run i understood that bears are simply pathetic, at equal level with a little sister without even giving any kind of equipment, a little sister kill a monster in few turns, while a bear just can't kill anything quick enough to be of any usefullness.

edit : fired the bear and got a Juere infantry in its place, that has 2 levels more than my character, and apparently hit very hard too.

Wow, this game hates me.

I'm up to 70k gold, right? About to buy a ranch for 74k. I go to sleep to prepare to play again, you know what happens? Some shitty thief steals 6000 gold. Okay, I'll cut my losses.

Then, then, the game basically says "lol fuck you" and curses my amulet. And steals from me again. Down to 60k gold, and now going lower because my amulet is stealing from me.

Oh, and aliens are ripping Palmia apart. One of my lackeys got pregnant.

This game has too much of a luck element in it sometimes. I can't count how many times I've had my stuff cursed and it is really pissing me off now.

At the earliest oppurtunity, you should gather up a stack of 30 or so uncurse scrolls and a holy water. And make yourself a stack of blessed uncurse scrolls. Seems to nick the curses on your gear with greater frequency as well as clearing the curses off anything in your inventory.

Also you can save the inferior material scrolls, so you can turn cursed gears into raw and then eat it off. This way destroys the gear unfortunately, but its unlikely you'll come across anything super great early on that can't be replaced.

The beggars pendant is a good item to for protecting your money from thieves. It also boosts charisma by 10 so a "lil tail" pays a bit better. You can get it fairly easily too by going to party quests in palmia and killing the beggars over and over again in it.

I always always ALWAYS take that perk that prevents cursed whisperings in your sleep on charecter gen. I've never had a curse issue since.

Well, if you don't want to spend 5 seconds to get undressed everytime you sleep you can waste a feat point and take that protection against curses feat.

Is it just me or the chances of finding a superior material scroll is incredibly lowered in the beta version?
Is it possible to farm potions of descend by getting a bunch of zombies and having them working at the ranch? Zombies drop a potion of descend sometimes so I was thinking...

Also, I created a new character and found that beggar amulet in my home. I was doing the tutorial and noticed it lying around. Weird.

This is one of the main reasons to get a ranch in my mind. The gold investment (yes, it's gold, I know, but still) required to get a load of descent potions is pretty hefty, and they're still fairly rare even once you pass the vendor level threshold.

That plus being able to farm other corpses for infinite stat training, and creating an army of your gene-engineered super-mutants... ranches are pretty fantastic.
